Blackmagic Design has released Camera 3.0 for iOS and Android, bringing a major upgrade for multi-camera productions. The update introduces the ability to sync and copy recorded clips from remote devices back to the controller, making multi-cam workflows faster and more streamlined.

Until now, the Blackmagic Camera app could act as a controller for other devices, allowing filmmakers to preview feeds, adjust settings, and start or stop recording remotely. With version 3.0, the app goes further by automatically transferring clips from the remote cameras to the controlling device, significantly reducing the time spent on media wrangling in post production.

New tools for faster control

In addition to clip syncing, the update brings new usability enhancements. Users can now tap to access picture presets, slate controls, and other camera settings more quickly. For more personalized operation, three custom function buttons can be programmed on the home screen to provide instant access to frequently used tools.
