
Blackmagic has announced a firmware update to their recently discounted Video Assist 4K monitor/recorder. The Video Assist 2.5 update adds a professional vector scope, waveform monitor, RGB parade and histogram.
What’s new in the Blackmagic Video Assist 2.5 Update
- Add multiple Scopes to the Video Assist 4K
- Add Anamorphic Desqueeze to the Video Assist 4K
- Add Blue only to the Video Assist 4K
- General performance and stability updates to the Video Assist and Video Assist 4K

Demoed at NAB back in April, these professional new scopes can be viewed full screen for accurately evaluating video signals passing through the Blackmagic Video Assist 4K, bringing its feature set even closer to more expensive monitor/recorders on the market.
Blackmagic Video Assist 2.5 update is available now from the Blackmagic Design website free of charge for all current Blackmagic Video Assist 4K customers.
