Cartoni UV-C Boxer Introduced - Sanitize Film Equipment Quickly

Like most industries, the film industry is slowly ramping up again, but the COVID-19 virus is still here. To help with gear sanitization, Cartoni launched a new product for rental houses that can disinfect film equipment in less than five minutes: the Cartoni UV-C Boxer.

Cartoni UV-C Boxer Features

Let’s start by saying that the Cartoni UV-C Boxer is mostly a product designed for rental houses or big production houses with external dimensions of 100 x 66 x 95cm/39.5 x 26 x 37.5 inches and a weight of 52kg/115lbs. The internal chamber is slightly smaller at 93 x 55 x 62cm/36.5 x 21.5 x 24 inches. You got it, it is big and heavy, even if there are four wheels with positive locks at the bottom.

Once you plug the Boxer to mains power (110/220V), a battery, or power bank – the operating tension is 24V – all you have to do is press the start button to illuminate the ten four watts UV-C medical-grade lamps that will clean your film equipment in less than five minutes. UV-C lamps work way below the visible wavelength spectrum (100-280nm) lamps. They have already been used for years in medical environments to neutralize any micro-organisms, germs, including COVID-19.

However, for maximum security, if the door of the Cartoni UV-C Boxer is not safely locked, the UV-C lamps will not activate. No matter where your equipment is inside the internal chamber, the 360° UV-C wavelength covers all surfaces, including the rack base.

Film Equipment Cleaning

Using the Cartoni UV-C Boxer to clean your expensive film equipment is a safe process that won’t damage your gear. UV-C lamps will not deteriorate electronic boards, electrical components, microphones, lenses, or filters. Of course, if you let your equipment for many, many hours under UV-C lamps, you’ll probably end up with plastic discoloration. But, with a five-minute timer on the Cartoni UV-C Boxer, you’ll be fine, and it will adequately disinfect all your gear.
