CineVerse Roma Comes to Cinecittà Studios – Expo Floor, Hands-On Tech Room, AIC IMAGO Panels

CineVerse Roma, a new cinematography and production technology event, takes place at Cinecittà Studios in Rome on October 16 and 17, 2026. Organized by the Italian cinematographers’ association AIC together with Eurocine and SCS Concepts and Exhibitions, it combines an Expo Floor, a hands-on Tech Room, 16 AIC IMAGO panel sessions across the two days, and a networking area for emerging filmmakers with free entry for registered visitors.

We spent much of this month covering new gear on the show floor in Amsterdam, and the CineD Best-of-Show Awards at IBC 2026 together with our Focus Check IBC overview episode gave a broad picture of what manufacturers brought this season. CineVerse Roma is a different format, with a stronger focus on cinematography education, CineVerse Roma is the first edition of the event, which the organizers say is intended to become an annual fixture in the European calendar.

That partnership brings the event to Stage 26 (Teatro 26) of Cinecittà Studios, the studio complex on Via Tuscolana that has hosted film production in Rome since the 1930s. According to the organizers, CineVerse is meant to recognize that history while looking at how current technology and creative skills are shaping filmmaking. The target audience covers working crews, rental and post houses, and film students. Let’s take a look at what the two days offer.

Four areas across one stage

The program is split into four areas. The Expo Floor is the general exhibition, where international brands and rental houses present camera, lighting, workflow and virtual production equipment. According to the organizers, the exhibitor line-up is still being finalized. Brand and exhibitor names have not yet been published on the event website.

The Tech Room is a separate 250 sqm (2,690 sq ft) space in which premium partners present hardware and workflows through demonstrations and hands-on sessions. The organizers state that AIC cinematographers will support these presentations, and the event website lists equipment testing as part of the room’s purpose.

The Frame Bar is designed as a networking lounge. It’s aimed at emerging filmmakers and newcomers to the industry who want to meet crew, manufacturers and rental companies.

What are the AIC IMAGO panels?

The panel program runs under the AIC IMAGO name. According to the event website, there will be 16 conversations across the two days, held in Sala Fellini as well as in the Frame Bar and the Tech Room. The event page describes the sessions as exploring “languages, works and visions of contemporary cinematography.”

Speaker names and panel titles are not yet available, and the organizers say the line-up of international speakers will be added to the website in the coming weeks. Daniele Massaccesi, the newly elected AIC president, set out the association’s position when the partnership was announced, saying that technology “must never replace emotion, artistry, or humanity” and should instead “elevate them.”

Opening hours and the Rome Film Fest

On Friday, October 16, the symposium runs from 09:00 to 19:00 and the Expo Floor from 10:00 to 19:00. On Saturday, October 17, the symposium again runs from 09:00 to 19:00, while the Expo Floor closes earlier, from 10:00 to 16:00. All times are CEST.

The dates fall within the 21st Rome Film Fest, which runs from October 13 to 25, 2026. Cinecittà Studios is served directly by Metro Line A, and according to the organizers, the trip from Roma Termini station takes around 20 minutes. The pedestrian entrance is at Via Tuscolana 1055.

Registration and admission
