DoPchoice SNAPBAG Turns Astera QuikPunch Into a Larger, Softer Source

DoPchoice has introduced a dedicated 50×50 cm SNAPBAG for the Astera QuikPunch that mounts directly to the fixture’s barndoors, promising a fast, sag-free setup with two diffusion options and optional 40° SNAPGRID control.  

Designed to live on the QuikPunch without extra hoops or speed rings, the new softbox from DoPchoice uses the existing barndoor leaves as its mounting base. The result is a compact, on-set friendly rig that sets up in seconds, expands the apparent source size, and tightens beam spill when paired with a matching grid.  

Mounting SNAPBAG on the QuikPunch

The SNAPBAG slides onto the small barndoor leaves via dedicated side pockets that are guided by stitched seams for alignment. Two crossing hook-and-loop straps lock the softbox to the fixture, helping it stay tight and sag-free, even in vibration-prone environments. Once attached, the unit can be rotated and positioned with the barndoors as the base.  

Inside, a silver reflective lining boosts output, while the enlarged 50×50 cm front increases the wrap compared with the bare QuikPunch, creating a broader, more flattering source for interviews, product work, or tabletop setups.  

Two diffusion choices in the bag

DoPchoice supplies two front fabrics to tune softness:

• Half Grid Cloth: softens edges while keeping a crisp, “punchy” quality and modest contrast, useful when you still want shape.  
• SNAPCLOTH: a seamless fabric aimed at the gentlest rendering with a velvety spread that wraps around faces and surfaces.  

Add a 40° SNAPGRID for spill control

For directional control, the matching 50×50 cm 40° SNAPGRID (model SGQ50W40) fits the SNAPBAG’s front, limiting spill without sacrificing the character of the softened source. DoPchoice lists the softbox as SBAQP22 and the grid as SGQ50W40.

The barndoor-fit approach keeps the rig compact, the two included diffusions extend versatility, and the optional grid helps maintain contrast in tight locations or mixed-source environments.
