Freewell Filter Series for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and Mini 4 Pro Launched

Following the recent launch of the new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera gimbal, accessory manufacturer Freewell has just introduced a new dedicated series of filters for this tiny 3-axis stabilized camera. Their offering includes ND, CPL, and FX filters. Moreover, they also have new filters for the recently announced Mini 4 Pro drone. Let’s have a look!

The new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 three-axis stabilized camera has just been unveiled and brings several improvements over its predecessor. These include a large 1-inch 9.4MP CMOS sensor, 4K video recording up to 120fps, 10-bit D-Log M picture profile, a rotatable 2” OLED touchscreen, and much more. However, just like with the Osmo Pocket 2, the f/2.0 aperture on the 20mm equivalent lens is fixed, which means that using ND filters is almost a “must”. The same goes for the f/1.7 aperture on the Mini 4 Pro drone. While DJI offers its own filters for both cameras, it’s nice to see third-party companies like Freewell coming up with alternative options.

Freewell filters for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 – overview

Just in case you didn’t know, Freewell is a Chinese company that specializes in manufacturing filters for cameras, action cams, smartphones, and drones. They are the creators behind some popular magnetic filter sets – like their convenient VND Filter Kit (which we reviewed and I personally carry in my camera bag).

All of their Osmo Pocket 3 filters have a magnetic snap-on design and should be lightweight enough not to interfere with the gimbal’s balance. Moreover, they feature a dust, scratch, oil, and water-resistant coating that is claimed to be color-neutral.

You can pick up the 10-stop ND, CPL, Snow Mist 1/4, and Light Pollution Reduction filters individually or opt for one of the 3 following pre-bundled packs:

• Bright Day 4-Pack: ND8/PL, ND16/PL, ND32/PL, and ND64/PL.

• All Day 8-Pack: ND8, ND16, ND32, CPL, ND8/PL, ND16/PL, ND32/PL, and ND64/PL.

Along with their new Osmo Pocket 3 products, Freewell is also introducing a new filter lineup for the Mini 4 Pro drone. Again, these are available individually or as pre-bundled packs, with the “Mega” kit being the most complete option. This includes ND16, ND32, ND64, ND128, ND256, ND512, ND1000, Snow Mist 1/4, UV, Light Pollution Reduction, CPL, ND16/PL, ND32/PL, ND64/PL, ND128/PL, and ND256/PL filters.
