Godox KNOWLED MG6K High Power LED Light Introduced

Godox has released the KNOWLED MG6K, a high-power LED light designed for professional film lighting applications. According to the company, the MG6K produces light output exceeding 6kW HMI while consuming 4,300W of power.

Godox is a Chinese manufacturer that has been creating photo/video/monitor/audio solutions since 1993. Initially focused on providing affordable studio lighting for photographers, Godox has since expanded their offerings to include more high-end solutions for filmmakers like the Godox BeamLight Max90 Modifier.

In general, it seems as if the competition on the higher end light spectrum and similar price bracket is warming up. Lately, it was NANLUX who introduced their Evoke 5000B, and now Godox is introducing their own 4,300W lighting solution.

Godox KNOWLED MG6K

The light head weighs 24.5 kg (54lb) without yoke and 28 kg (61lb) with yoke. It features color temperature adjustment from 2800K to 10,000K and green/magenta adjustment of ±100%.

When used with the MGR30 reflector, the MG6K provides 41,000 Lux at 5600K from a five-meter distance. The MGR15 reflector produces 132,000 Lux under the same conditions.

The MG6K includes an air-cooling system that improves heat dissipation during extended use at high power settings.

The complete MG6K system weighs approximately 41 kg total, with the controller at 13 kg and the head with yoke at 28 kg. This design allows for single-person handling during setup and transport.

The light offers 0.1% precision dimming and supports several control interfaces, including DMX, CRMX, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and the KNOWLED App. It also features IP54 weather protection and flicker-free operation.

With such a fixture, Godox was working on designing the products to be as lightweight as possible to make it easy to use even by a single person. It was also designed to seamlessly mix with HMI lights.

The MG6K is compatible with Godox’s G-mount accessory system, which includes:

• MGR15 reflector for enhanced optical efficiency and long-distance lighting
• MGR30 reflector for uniform light with defined shadows
• BeamLight Max 60/90 for 5° narrow-angle parallel beam effects
• 7-foot lantern softbox for large-area soft lighting
• ZB03 motorized three-light bracket for remote angle adjustment, compatible with the MG2400 series
