Hollyland Solidcom C1 Intercom Headset System Released – Up to 1,000ft Hands-free

The new Hollyland Solidcom C1 is a full-duplex wireless intercom headset system that allows hands-free communication for crews ranging from 2 up to 9 team members. It ensures stable conversations up to 350m/1,000ft LOS, an easy-to-use approach, and 10 hours of battery life. It is now available for purchase starting at $499 (two headsets).

Teamwork makes the dream work. However, amazing results can only be achieved if team members can properly communicate with each other. This is something that is not always easy to do on a walkie-talkie when handling gear on set. Here is where intercom systems get into play.

Wireless solutions manufacturer Hollyland already offers a 1,300ft-range intercom system, the Solidcom M1, which recently received a boost via a firmware update. By the way, you can read our review of this product here. Now the company is introducing an additional option which is their first true self-contained headset communication solution. So let’s take a look at the Hollyland Solidcom C1 system.

Hollyland Solidcom C1: overview

The new Hollyland Solidcom C1 wireless intercom solution consists of a group of headsets that don’t require any additional belt pack or base station to work. The system allows real-time hands-free communication inside a team ranging from 2 to 6 members. Three additional users can join the conversation when using the optional Solidcom C1 HUB.

Like the M1, the Solidcom C1 works in the 1.9GHz frequency band at a distance of up to 350m/1,000ft line-of-sight. The system has a plug-and-play design and it’s ready to use out of the box. Indeed, the headsets have an automatic pairing feature that doesn’t require any action from the user.

Loud, clear, encrypted signal

Each headset pair features a built-in directional microphone that focuses on the speaker’s voice. Moreover, the combination of the 100-7,000Hz frequency response, Acoustic Echo Cancellation (ACE) technology, and dual-antenna design should ensure loud and clear communication even in crowded, interference-rich environments.

Furthermore, Hollyland also cares about your privacy. Indeed, their DECT 6.0 technology ensures that the audio signal traveling between the headsets is encrypted and cannot be accessed from outside the team. Moreover, the microphone can be muted for additional privacy.

Hollyland Solidcom C1: headset design

The Solidcom C1 headsets feature a PC-ABS construction that keeps each unit lightweight (168g), durable, and comfortable to wear even if you work into overtime.

The padding of the ear cups is replaceable, and you can choose between on-ear foam and over-ear cushion options.

The simple button layout on each unit is straightforward to use. The UP/DOWN volume buttons differ in size, with the first one being larger for more immediate tactile identification. Two A/B buttons enable access to the A/B grouping functions available when using the Solidcom C1 HUB base. Finally, a light indicator will inform you on the battery, connection, and overall system status.

Power and battery life

According to Hollyland, the rechargeable lithium battery should ensure up to 10 hours of operation time on a full charge for slave headsets and up to 5-6 hours for the master pair, depending on the team size. Included in the kit are a spare battery and a multi-port charger that can fully juice up each cell in about 2.5 hours.
