KINOTEHNIK Practilite 632 and 634 Announced – Power-Efficient Aspheric LED Fixtures

KINOTEHNIK Practilite 632 and 634 Announced – Power-Efficient Aspheric LED Fixtures

KINOTEHNIK has recently presented their new generation of aspheric bi-color LED fixtures, the Practilite 632 and 634, that are here to replace the original 60x series. These new models offer 3x more output, draw 45W of power, have a CCT range of 3000-6000K, and come with built-in barndoors. They will be available in Q3 2022.

A small bi-color LED Fresnel fixture is a good tool to have in a lighting kit, since these compact lights can prove to be very flexible on set. Yesterday, we reported about the BB&S Lighting CFL and today is the turn of Estonian manufacturer KINOTEHNIK.

Their newly-released Practilite 632 and 634 LED Fresnel fixtures inherit the legacy of the original Practilite 602 and 604 models, first announced at NAB 2015. This new generation of lights offers a brighter output with less power consumption. Let’s take a closer look.

KINOTEHNIK Practilite 632 and 634: overview

The new KINOTEHNIK Practilite 63x series consists of two bi-color LED Fresnel fixtures: the Practilite 632 and 634. The difference between the two models in not entirely clear yet. What’s certain is that both units are built around power efficiency. In fact, they have a power draw of only 45W, which represents approximately a 34% saving over the previous generation.

Despite this fact, the Practilite 632 and 634 outperform the 60x series fixtures in terms of output. According to the company, both models can output 30,000 lux at a distance of 1m/3.3ft. Moreover, a Boost Mode function can increase this value up to 50,000 lux.

The color temperature range of these lights goes from 3000 up to 6000K. Hence, it’s a little limited on the lower end of the CCT spectrum in my opinion. KINOTEHNIK claims these new models have a CRI rating of approximately 97.

Both lamp heads feature an internal aspherical zoom lens with a variable beam angle ranging from 10 up to 60°. Moreover, users can choose between three different lenses (Soft, Medium, and Hard), depending on the beam quality-to-output ratio they’re looking for.

Control, power, and design

Both Practilte 63x fixtures come in a compact body with on-board CCT and dimming controls. Moreover, users can also access settings via the dedicated KINOTEHNIK Practical Remote App which is available for both iOS and Android devices.

The 45W of power required to make these lights work can be provided via a 4-pin CLR 14-28C DV input at the lower back of the units. On the front, 4 built-in barndoors allow users to easily shape light to their likings. Moreover, a 77mm filter thread offers support for accessories aimed at producing creative effects.
