Meike MK-EFTE-C Drop-In Filter Canon EF to Sony E Lens Mount Adapter Announced

Meike announced a new Canon EF to Sony-E lens mount adapter with drop-in filter capabilities: the Meike MK-EFTE-C. The adapter comes standard with two filters – a variable ND and a clear filter. Other creative and filtration filters are also available, and the adapter will start shipping by the end of this month.

Meike quickly made a solid reputation thanks to the launch of Super35 and Full-Frame cinema lenses with a reasonable price/feature ratio.

But the company has also been making lens mount adapters like their EF-RF control ring mount adapter and EF/EF-S to EOS-R drop-in VND filter adapter. Furthermore, Meike has announced a Canon EF to Sony-E drop-in filter adapter to expand its lineup of lens mount adapters. Let’s take a closer look.

Meike MK-EFTE-C features

The Meike MK-EFTE-C allows you to mount Canon EF/EF-S lenses onto Sony E-Mount cameras. The adapter supports most of the camera’s features, including autofocus/PDAF/CDAF, auto aperture/electronic aperture adjustment, and EXIF signal transmission.

On the side of this electronic lens mount adapter, you’ll find an opening to put a small filter inside. The MK-EFTE-C comes standard with a variable ND and clear filter. In addition, the lens mount adapter and drop-in filters have gaskets for weather protection.

Once inserted in the Meike MK-EFTE-C, the drop-in filters are firmly locked in place by a locking mechanism. To remove or change a drop-in filter, you’ll need to press a small release button on the filter itself.

Other drop-in filters

As I mentioned, Meike already has a drop-in Canon EF to Canon RF lens mount adapter. Moreover, Meike released Black Pro-Mist, and CPL filters for this adapter, which I assume are the same and cross-compatible with this new Meike MK-EFTE-C.

However, we can’t confirm if this Meike lens mount adapter is compatible with other drop-in filters from Canon, Breakthrough Photography, or Kolari.

Price and availability

The MK-EFTE-C will start shipping on October 30th. There is no information about pricing yet, but the Meike Canon EF to RF adapter is $149.99, so we can expect something in the same price range.
