Let’s take a look at the DJI Focus Handwheel 2 and Osmo Pro/Raw Wired Video Adapter, as well as a couple more accessories just announced by DJI that aim to improve the usability of both the DJI Osmo and Inspire 2.
The DJI Focus Handwheel 2 is the second generation of their wheel controller for the Osmo Pro/RAW and Inspire 2. It allows you to control focus, zoom and aperture on both these devices, and has been enhanced to provide even more precise control than in the previous version.
Please note that you will need to purchase the new Osmo Pro/RAW Handwheel 2 Communication Cable in order to use it with this model. Using it with the Inspire 2 remote will also require the new Focus Handwheel 2 Remote Controller Stand, which allows you to directly mount the wheel controller to the drone’s remote. Please visit the various DJI product pages for more detailed equipment requirements for your particular setup.
This new adapter allows you to monitor the image from the Osmo Pro/Raw on the DJI CrystalSky Monitor — or on your Android device via the DJI Go app — directly and without the need for a wireless connection. This wired connection means that the stuttery, laggy feed you can occasionally get when using WiFi to monitor the image should no longer be a problem.
A smoother video feed also means it can be much easier to focus manually. For this purpose, the DJI Osmo Pro/RAW Wired Video Adapter offers a second port that allows you to connect a DJI Focus or DJI Focus Handwheel 2 as well.
The DJI Osmo and Inspire 2 are a couple of very fine pieces of kit indeed. If you haven’t already, make sure you check out our hands-on reviews HERE and HERE respectively.
