Nikon Film Festival Europe. I am a Hero. In Less Than 140 Seconds.

December 29th, 2010 Jump to Comment Section

C5D viewer Alexis Wanneroy sent me a link to his entry in the Nikon Film Festival Europe. “I am a hero. In Less Than 140 Seconds.” This little documentary about a street performer in Hollywood is a great example of how HDSLR’s make little films like this possible. Here is  Alexis’ take on the film. If you dig it, you can vote for his film here. Deadline for entry is January 15, 2011.

“On Hollywood blvd some people dress up as super heros. If you tip them, they’ll take a picture with you. One of them is french, his name is Pierre.”

Here is an English translation from Google on the Rules and Guidelines of the Nikon Film Festival.

Any individual residing in the countries of the European Union or European Economic Area can perform and make a movie. The person identified as “Participant”is the film’s director, other contributors and sponsors of the film (writer, dialogue writer, musician, actors, technicians …) is represented by the director who should be mentioned in the credits and acknowledgments.

The participant is identified by marital status (name and address) and will be the sole recipient of the endowment. A single work can have at most two (2) directors.

Each participant will make and offer only one video lasting between 30 and 140 seconds in a format HD (High Definition) (Image Size: 720 lines minimum to Full HD/1080p/1080i : 1080 lines). Any film candidate does not fulfill the conditions (notably lower resolutions) will be excluded from the contest.
