Panasonic S1 - EXCLUSIVE $400 cinema5D Discount + Free $200 V-Log Upgrade

Panasonic is offering a sizeable discount on our “Mirrorless Camera of the Year“, the Panasonic S1, exclusively to cinema5D readers. Read on to learn more!

Last week, we published our long “mirrorless camera of the year” post, and while there have been MANY contenders, the Panasonic S1 came out on top for its perfect price/performance ratio. And Panasonic seems really happy about this result – they got in touch offering an exclusive $400 discount for cinema5D readers, plus the V-Log Filmmaker Upgrade worth $199 for free!

In order to get hold of this offer, you have to order the Panasonic S1 via this exclusive link at B&H.

Please note that this link cannot be found through the B&H website directly and is only available via cinema5D. The offer is valid until December 28th, 2019.

Panasonic S1 – Mirrorless Camera of the Year

In case you missed our “Best Mirrorless Camera of the Year 2019” post, you should read it here. If you don’t have the time to do that now, just read the summary of why we think the Panasonic S1 is the worthy winner of this award:

At the end of the day, the included camera features backed by a relatively affordable price led us to the conclusion above. It can be that Panasonic took the S1 a bit too far, offering a set of video features that makes their own S1H camera a questionable buy for a lot more money. For us, this is the case. All in all the two cameras (S1H and S1) do share a lot, and depending on your usage, the S1 offers the better price/performance ratio. If you are serious about video making, pay the extra and get yourself the S1 upgrade that unlocks V-Log. Greater Dynamic Range, flexibility when coloring (As you can shoot in V-Log), 10-bit internal and external recoding, and even manual control when shooting high frame rate when downloading the latest firmware, all there!

There you have it. And because we love the camera, Panasonic got super excited offering this discount, which ironically makes it an even better bang for the buck.

Here are our Video Reviews of the Camera:

And here is our Lab Test of the camera, checking rolling shutter and dynamic range.

Will you be getting a Panasonic S1 through this discount offer? Let us know in the comments below.

This is not a special discount. Adorama has it at the same price ?

Great idea, but no @PanasonicProEU option on S1 for Europe / UK?
There is currently cashback available but the V-log upgrade is the clincher

Panasonic seem to have very random marketing – the V-log was on offer in the UK via a big consumer reseller for circa 24 hours, now they are offering the rebate, again from consumer retailers, but no sign of the V-log option from any Professional dealer Europe. Guess I’l wait for the new Canon product before I jump

I agree. Now Panasonic is essentially doing the same thing for which filmmakers ceased to love canon.

customers who previously purchased the camera S1 on B&H but don’t have SFU2 update, can somehow get it for free?

Is that why Cinea5D awarded the S1 as camera of the year? Was that a paid advertisement?

Is there a discount for us in Europe as well? If I use the offer and buys from the US it will cost me $800 in taxes.

It looks to me like everyone, at the moment, gets the $400 discount but the C5D link gets you the V-Log upgrade, a $199 value, for free. Do you know how long the C5D offer lasts? Maybe the $400 C5D discount continues after the B&H “Holiday” discount ends. I’d love it if they’d throw in a Canon EF lens adapter, too!

Seems the be the price for everyone. Discount applies if you use the link or not.

For Europeans take care, it is an NTSC only version According to B&H, no 25/50p framerates.

It is wild. Modern professional camera must have switching between NTSC and PAL modes.

Great for US readers, but ordering from B&H into the EU incurs big duties and taxes. The cost of which is often only revealed when the UPS guy shows up with a bill. A matching UK retailer would have been fairer?

in addition to taxes, you will get another nuisance – the lack of free warranty service on the territory of uk. b & h warranty coverage is valid in North America only
