Pocket Dispo Pro Available – 3D-Printed Lens for Sony, FUJIFILM, and Canon Cameras

Pocket Dispo recently released a Pro version of their disposable lens, now featuring an adjustable focus ring. This 3D-printed lens has a fixed F/11 aperture, and the “glass elements” are from repurposed disposable cameras. It is now available in three lens mounts, including Sony E, FUJIFILM X, and Canon RF. So, let’s take a closer look at it!

While most of us are familiar with pinhole lenses, Pocket Dispo lenses are something a bit different. Indeed, Pocket Dispo salvages lenses from disposable cameras and transforms them into lenses for modern mirrorless cameras. I personally find the concept fantastic and quite commendable, especially if those lenses would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.

Pocket Dispo Pro – features

The Pocket Dispo Pro features the same authentic disposable camera lens as the regular version. The lens element is recessed to keep a low profile and avoid scratches, as it doesn’t come with a lens cap. The fixed aperture is F/11, and according to the company, it is optimized to enhance halation, chromatic aberration, vignetting, and softness. You got it — this is clearly an artistic lens, not made for critical or clinical shots.

The body of the Pocket Dispo Pro is 3D-printed in carbon fiber composite, and it features a focus ring that removes the infinity-only focus “limitation” of the non-Pro version. Indeed, the Pro version now offers close focus capabilities, even though the company does not specify the minimum focusing distance. Otherwise, Pocket Dispo mentions that the focus ring has a “smooth focus feel with Nyogel® Premium grease.”

The lens is available in three versions for Sony E-mount, FUJIFILM X-mount, and Canon RF mount cameras.
