The SWIT PowerCell camera batteries are for mirrorless cameras from Canon, Sony, FUJIFILM, and Nikon. They feature a USB-C port for charging, 7.2V 2200mAh capacity, a 4-LED status gauge, and OEM original Panasonic battery cells. The batteries are available for €39, and will start shipping soon.
The Chinese accessories and battery manufacturer SWIT offers various powering and monitoring solutions. Recently, the company even released a wireless video transmission system, SWIT CREW. The SWIT PowerCell are new battery packs for select mirrorless cameras which offer some interesting features. In fact, we already reported on these batteries last month from the IBC showfloor. Today, SWIT PowerCell is being officially launched, so let us recap what we know.
SWIT PowerCell is a new line of battery packs for mirrorless cameras that are available in four different types:
Unfortunately, there is no option for Panasonic LUMIX cameras (DMW-BLK22).
The PowerCell battery packs include OEM original Panasonic NCR1850 lithium-ion battery cells. This should grant the packs a precise discharge curves for accurate runtime prediction as well as a longer calendar lifespan, according to SWIT.
Each battery pack includes two cells and therefore features a 7.2V 2200mAh (16Wh) rated capacity. The whole internal design is encapsulated in a reinforced composite housing with flame-retardant materials for added safety.
Additionally, PowerCell batteries sport a USB-C 5V port for direct charging with intelligent thermal control. There is also a 4-level LED touch power indicator. It shows the remaining power simply by touching the button on the battery.
SWIT PowerCell batteries are supposed to start shipping this fall. The retail price is between €39 and €49, depending on the model.
