ZGCINE Cinema Power Cables Released – Five LEMO and D-Tap Options From $29

ZGCINE has released a lineup of five regulated and non-regulated power cables for cameras and camera accessories. The set is built around the LEMO 2-pin and D-Tap connectors used on cinema rigs, and includes a regulated 19.5V cable for the Sony FX6 and FX9 and a USB-C Power Delivery cable that ZGCINE rates at up to 100W. All five use nylon-braided cable, and prices start at $29.

Cinema rigs often combine cameras, monitors, wireless transmitters and battery systems that do not all use the same power connector or voltage. ZGCINE, whose recent products include the X Series V-mount batteries, is addressing some of those connection requirements with this five-cable lineup.

The lineup covers five connector combinations. The DT-DCFX converts D-Tap to a regulated 19.5V DC output for the Sony FX6 and FX9. The LMS-PD links USB-C Power Delivery to LEMO 2-pin, while the LMS-PD12V connects a 12V USB-C PD source to a LEMO 2-pin device. The LMS-LMS joins two LEMO 2-pin connectors, and the LMS-DC2.5 runs LEMO 2-pin to a 5.5×2.5mm barrel. All five cables use a nylon-braided exterior.

Regulated 19.5V for the FX6 and FX9

The DT-DCFX takes 12 to 16.8V from a D-Tap source, including V-mount, Gold Mount and B-mount batteries and power plates, and delivers a stable, regulated 19.5V. Maximum rated power is 100W at 5A, and a 5.5mm barrel connector goes into the camera.

Three details sit between the two ends. The D-Tap connector rotates 180° for cable management, and it carries an LED status indicator that turns red if the plug is inserted backward. The power regulation box has built-in reverse-polarity protection, which ZGCINE says is there to safeguard the camera’s power input. The box also has a 1/4″-20 mounting hole, with the screw included, so it can be fixed to the rig rather than left loose.

USB-C Power Delivery to LEMO 2-pin

The LMS-PD bridges USB-C Power Delivery and the LEMO 2-pin cinema power interface. ZGCINE lists USB-C PD input profiles of 5V/2A, 9V/1.8A, 12V/2A, 15V/2.2A and 20V/3.25A, with a LEMO 2-pin output of 12–16.8V at up to 5A. The company rates the cable at up to 100W. Its regulation box takes the same included 1/4″-20 screw as the DT-DCFX.

ZGCINE positions the cable for ARRI, RED and Z-Cam cinema cameras and for Teradek, SmallHD and Tilta accessories, and describes it as a way to run compatible monitors, cameras and accessories from a compatible USB-C PD source.

The three non-regulated cables

The remaining three are non-regulated cables for rigs, monitors and accessories with compatible 2-pin LEMO power connections. The LMS-LMS connects two LEMO 2-pin devices and is specified for 12–16.8V operation. ZGCINE rates it at up to 100W.

The LMS-DC2.5 ends in a 5.5×2.5mm DC barrel, which is aimed at on-camera monitors and wireless video transmitters. The LMS-PD12V is a USB-C PD 12V-to-LEMO 2-pin cable for powering camera accessories from a compatible USB-C PD output on a battery, battery distribution plate or power bank.

Price and availability

The ZGCINE cinema power cables are available now for pre-order. The DT-DCFX and LMS-LMS are priced at $39 each; the LMS-PD at $45; and the LMS-DC2.5 and LMS-PD12V at $29 each. For more information, please visit the ZGCINE website.
