There are some excellent gift ideas from SmallRig for filmmakers, broadcasters, creatives, and even smartphone filmmakers. Let’s take a look at three products, including two that are part of a collaboration!
SmallRig offers a wide range of high-quality, affordable accessories for production workflows. These include tripods, microphones, camera cages, matte boxes, phone rigs, lens control systems, and more. They are trusted and used by creatives all over the world.
SmallRig teamed up with filmmaker and video creator Potato Jet (Gene Nagata) to design the ultimate tripod. For Potato Jet, it needed to be quick to assemble, have durable and lightweight carbon fiber construction, and be versatile, highly portable, and adventure-ready.
The TRIBEX Hydraulic Carbon Fiber Tripod features the innovative X-CLUTCH technology. Single-action leg deployment and self-locking happen instantly with a squeeze of the patented clutch. You’ll be able to set up and balance the tripod and camera in seconds. The adjustable height range is from 10.6 to 66.1 in. (27 to 168 cm).
Additionally, the fluid head has a 4-step dynamic counterbalance and can handle a payload of up to 13.2 lbs (6 kg). It pans a full 360° and tilts +90/-60°. The quick-release plate features 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 camera screws, plus it is compatible with Manfrotto and DJI RS series quick-release plates. Check out my colleague Omri Keren Lapidot’s first-look article here.

This is a co-design collaboration between SmallRig and filmmaker and global nomad Brandon Li. Mobile filmmakers using the newest iPhone Pro will be able to take full advantage of the Mobile Lightweight Video Kit for iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max Co-design Edition. It can be set up as a full cinematic solution, a simple photography kit, and other use cases.
Features include a phone video cage, protective case, capture grip for dual handheld shooting, rotatable handles with wireless control, FilMov 67mm magnetic filter adapter, a 67mm 1-9 stop VND magnetic filter, and a TPU soft frame. The swappable lens plates and filter adapters are very useful.
There are countless expansion opportunities with the phone video cage. It includes multiple 1/4″-20 threaded holes and cold shoe mounts. It also features H11 quick-release interfaces so you can add handles, microphones, and LED lights. Plus, it attaches easily to a tripod or other rig.
Learn more and purchase here. It’s priced at $179.99.
Finally, another great gift idea is the SmallRig VB99 SE mini V Mount Battery is an ultra-compact 99Wh Lithium-Ion battery. It supplies power to cameras, gimbals, drones, and other supported devices. It features an OLED screen that displays the remaining battery capacity and status. Additionally, it supports up to 10A draw at a nominal 14.8V.
Meanwhile, accessory ports include one D-Tap output, one 8 VDC barrel output, one 12 VDC barrel output, one USB-A output, and one USB-C output. Plus, it can be recharged via an optional D-Tap charger or a USB-C 65W Fast Charge (recharges in about 2.5 hours). The control button sets up display preferences and sets the battery to discharge mode. Please read my colleague Jose Prada’s detailed article about it here.
You can purchase the SmallRig VB99 SE mini V Mount Battery here. It retails for $149.99.
