The Canon EOS C70 is currently heavily discounted at B&H, dropping from $4,799 to $3,499, but only until July 5. For anyone who is considering adding a compact Cinema EOS body with built-in ND filters, professional audio, and a Super 35 DGO sensor, this camera may be worth another look.
We first covered the Canon EOS C70 in 2020 when we did an interesting interview with Canon’s Aron Randhawa, when the camera was announced as Canon’s attempt to bridge its Cinema EOS and mirrorless lines. Later, we also put the camera through our Lab Test with the RAW update.
The EOS C70 offers a compact Super 35 Cinema EOS body with built-in ND filters, mini-XLR audio, timecode, Dual Pixel CMOS AF, dual SD card recording, and internal 12-bit Cinema RAW Light LT via firmware.
The EOS C70 offers a compact Super 35 Cinema EOS body with built-in ND filters, mini-XLR audio, timecode, Dual Pixel CMOS AF, dual SD card recording, and internal 12-bit Cinema RAW Light via firmware. That combination keeps it distinct from many hybrid mirrorless cameras, even as video features have become more common across camera lines.
Since the EOS C70 was introduced, Canon’s Cinema EOS lineup has expanded with newer RF-mount full-frame models such as the EOS C80 and EOS C50. Those cameras bring newer sensor and recording options, but at the current heavily discounted price, the C70 could be quite interesting for users who want production-focused features in a compact Super 35 body.
The Canon EOS C70 is currently available at B&H for $3,499, down from $4,799, saving $1,300. The offer is listed as ending on July 5 at 11:59 PM ET. For more information, please visit the B&H website.

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. Before moving to Vienna, I worked as a photographer on film sets, telling stories as they unfolded behind the scenes. Since then, I’ve focused on immersive theater, both as a photographer and an actor. I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval ensemble, documenting the energy and atmosphere of their performances. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
