ABT have introduced the SpeedMount EF for DSMC2 cameras, with an image circle that covers the RED Helium and Dragon sensors. Here are the details.
The ABT EF SpeedMount is a modified 5-element/4-group optical block in a black anodized aluminium body. It features a positive lock to mount your lenses and electronic iris and focus control for Canon EF lenses using RED’s original electronics. The best thing about this product is that it requires no modifications to your DSMC2 camera. It is easy to swap with your regular DSMC2 mounts and OLPFs.
The SpeedMount reduces the full frame (43.3mm) image circle to S35 format (x0.71) while speeding up the lens for nearly one f-stop, much like the Metabones Speed Booster. The new image circle will cover 7K WS / 7K HD Helium and 5K WS / 5K HD Dragon. The original RED VV OLPF with custom holder is included, and you can choose between RED’s “Skin Tone / Highlight”, “Standard” and “Low Light”.
The SpeedMount for RED DSMC2 will be available as of December 2017 for €3.995,00, with a special introductory price of €3.395,00. For more information, visit store-abt.de
