Rolux Foldable Dual V-Mount Charger Introduced – 100W USB-C Input, Fanless Design, 780g

Rolux has taken the dual V-mount charger, usually one of the heavier boxes in a camera kit, and made it foldable. At IBC 2026, we spoke to Rolux’s Zeynep Xie about the Rolux Foldable Dual V-Mount Charger, a 780g (1.72lb) charger that folds flat for travel, runs from a single 100W USB-C input, charges two V-mount batteries simultaneously at up to 50W per channel, and works without a fan.

Rolux is well known for its batteries and power accessories, from the three V-mount battery lines and the Grand Series Gold Mount packs to the RL-VP4D V-mount plate for the DJI Ronin 4D. Next to the company’s conventional dual charger, the size difference is obvious. The charger weighs 780g (1.72lb) and measures 102 x 155 x 72mm (4 x 6.1 x 2.8in). It’s aimed at filmmakers who travel, and it folds down to fit into a bag, a suitcase, or even a large pocket, and unfolds again for charging.

USB-C instead of a dedicated power input

The biggest change from Rolux’s classic dual charger is how the unit gets its power. The older model relies on a dedicated power input, which is less convenient on the road than USB-C. The Rolux Foldable Dual V-Mount Charger takes a single 100W USB-C PD input on the front and splits it into 50W for each of the two V-mount slots.

Rolux includes its own GaN wall charger and a USB-C cable in the kit, so the charger does not depend on finding a suitable power supply on location. According to the Rolux product page, the GaN adapter accepts 100 to 240V AC and weighs 230g (8.1oz), bringing the complete setup to just over 1kg (2.2lb) before the batteries.

Fanless, and how it deals with heat

The classic charger has a fan. The Foldable Dual V-Mount Charger does not, so it stays silent on film sets and during live productions while batteries top up on location.

Without a fan, the heat has to go somewhere else. Rolux uses GaN technology and a self-developed BMS protection board, which the company says keeps fast charging safe and cool. The folded-out triangle structure also leaves open space between the two battery positions, which helps dissipate heat.

Why not just charge through the battery’s USB-C port?

Many current V-mount batteries have their own USB-C input. We asked why anyone would need a dedicated charger at all. The answer was about heat: Zeynep said charging directly through the battery’s USB-C port concentrates more of the heat inside the battery itself, which Rolux believes could be harder on the pack over time. Rolux therefore suggests a V-mount charger as the safer route.

Battery compatibility and charging times

Despite the compact size, the charger is not limited to small packs. Every capacity works, from smaller batteries up to 150Wh V-mounts. Two LEDs on the front show the status of each slot: red while a battery is charging, green when it is full.

With two batteries on the charger, each gets 50W. Two 150Wh batteries take around 3.5 hours to reach a full charge, and two 98Wh or 99Wh batteries about 2.5 hours.

What comes in the box

The kit includes the foldable charger, the GaN wall charger, and the USB-C cable. There is also a soft bag that holds the charger together with the batteries, so the whole power setup can be carried as one package.
