Rolux has introduced three new V-Mount battery series to its lineup: DYNASTY, DENSITY, and FORTEC, each with several capacity variants and aimed at different use cases. All three focus on stable power delivery and use an advanced BMS management system to keep output steady, even under heavier loads. They also share safety features like thermal control, cell balancing, and status information. Here’s a closer look.
Rolux specializes in batteries and accessories for both film and television and has been in business since 2012. Recently, we looked at their VP4D Ronin 4D V-mount plate that lets you run your DJI Ronin 4D on standard V-Mount batteries, as well as their professional Grand Series Gold Mount batteries.
Each battery in the Rolux series uses Samsung and Sanyo cells, a choice that tends to deliver consistent performance. These cells are also known for their longevity. An advanced BMS feature includes safeguards against overcharging/discharging, and short-circuiting. They also provide real-time information, such as remaining capacity and temperature, to compatible devices.
Rolux also notes that while many batteries advertise high USB-C output, sustained delivery is less common when under the strain of real heat and load. Their design uses DC-DC conversion, premium inductors, low-resistance MOSFETs, and controlled cooling to minimize energy loss and heat. On models with USB-C, this helps maintain continuous delivery at their rated power levels, whether 45W, 65W, or 100W.
The DYNASTY series is the most compact and lightweight option in the lineup and is designed to work well on gimbals, drones, or small camera setups, depending on payload limits. They offer multiple outputs, including USB-A, USB-C, 12VDC, 8VDC, and D Tap. The bi-directional USB-C PD port can power devices or recharge the battery. The highest-capacity model (DYNASTY III) delivers up to 100W of continuous output.
• DYNASTY I, 14.4V 50Wh• DYNASTY II, 14.4V 99Wh• DYNASTY III, 14.4V 150Wh
The DENSITY batteries are built for long runtimes and heavier setups. They provide higher-current output through both the D-Tap and BP terminals, so they’re suitable for accessories that draw more power, and a longer runtime means fewer battery swaps on longer shoots. The bi-directional USB-C port delivers up to 65W and accepts up to 45W when charging, and can power USB-C devices, including many portable USB-C displays.
• Density I, 14.4V 98Wh• Density II, 14.4V 140Wh• Density III, 14.4V 290Wh
The FORTEC batteries are built for tougher conditions and have reinforced housing with rubberized corners for added shock protection. They offer higher-discharge output across their D-Tap and BP terminals, which makes them suitable for heavy-load gear (lights, transmitters, heavy cinema cameras) that draws more current. Unlike the DYNASTY and DENSITY lines, the FORTEC models do not include USB-C and instead focus on traditional high-current ports for reliability in extreme environments. This series is intended for crews working outdoors or on sets where the battery is likely to be handled roughly or mounted in places where extra durability matters.
• FORTEC I, 14.52V 213Wh• FORTEC II, 14.52V 282Wh

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. Before moving to Vienna, I worked as a photographer on film sets, telling stories as they unfolded behind the scenes. Since then, I’ve focused on immersive theater, both as a photographer and an actor. I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval ensemble, documenting the energy and atmosphere of their performances. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
