FilmConvert has finally introduced a new Camera Pack for the RED V-RAPTOR. Using FilmConvert Nitrate and CineMatch plug-ins, it should now be easier to grade and match footage shot on RED’s flagship cinema camera. The Camera Pack is accessible for free for all existing users.
Five years after the release of the first model in September 2021, the V-RAPTOR platform still represents the pinnacle of RED’s camera technology, combining an 8K large-format sensor (with a global shutter design on the most recent models), internal .R3D RAW recording, and high-frame-rate capture in an extremely compact, production-ready body.
As testified by our Lab Test results, these cameras can produce technically superb images that easily match those coming from KOMODO, KOMODO-X, and even Nikon Z series cameras. If you’re still struggling with color matching, however, FilmConvert’s plug-in can come to the rescue. Let’s take a quick look!
If you’re not familiar with FilmConvert Nitrate and CineMatch, they are a film emulation and camera-matching plug-in, respectively, that can assist you in your color correction and grading workflow. Both are calibrated for each specific camera sensor and color science, with RED V-RAPTOR now finally joining KOMODO and Nikon ZR. The plug-ins are available for the most common NLEs, including Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro.
Over time, the V-RAPTOR family has grown considerably, so here is a quick breakdown of all the models released over the last five years:

All FilmConvert camera packs are always available to download for free for all existing users. In order to access the new RED V-RAPTOR profile, CineMatch users need to update their plug-in first.
