FEELWORLD FL125D, FL125B, FL225D and FL225B LED Spotlights Introduced

Chinese company FEELWORLD has just released its first LED point-like source lights, the FL125D, FL125B, FL225D, and FL225B. They offer high CRI and TLCI ratings, up to 67,500 lux at 1 meter, Bowens mount, built-in effects, and a smartphone app. Pricing starts at $199.99.

During this year, many companies decided to adventure off the beaten path to start producing lighting equipment. Camera accessory manufacturer SmallRig introduced its first lighting ecosystem, including their RC120 and RC220 series LED spotlights. Moreover, SIRUI launched two new COB lights and a bi-color panel, thus expanding its focus beyond camera supports and lenses.

Now, FEELWORLD, a company known for their affordable on-camera monitors, is following the trend by introducing their FL video light series, consisting of no more than 4 new models. Let’s take a closer look.

FEELWORLD’s first video light series: FL125D, FL125B, FL225D and FL225B

FEELWORLD’s debut into the lighting world happens with the release of four COB LED spotlights, namely the FL125D, FL125B, FL225D, and FL225B. While the “D” models only offer a daylight-balanced output, the color temperature of the bi-color variants ranges from 2,700 up to 6,500K. Maximum power consumption spans between 150W (FL125D, FL125B) and 250W (FL225D, FL225B).

All sources have claimed CRI 96+ and TLCI 97+ ratings, and are fully dimmable from 0 up to 100% of their intensity. Here are the photometric measurements provided by the manufacturers. These numbers were obtained by setting all lights to 5,600K, using the included reflector, and measuring brightness at a distance of 1 meter:

  • FL125D – 48,500 lux
  • FL125B – 37,600 lux
  • FL225D – 67,500lux
  • FL225B – 64,500lux

The FEELWORLD FL series lights feature an industry-standard Bowen mount to host light modifiers, and are packed with up to 10 lighting effects, including Paparazzi, Fireworks, Lighting, Fault Bulb, TV, Breath, Flash, Party, Flame, and Music.

Size, weight, power, and control

All models share the same all-in-one design, meaning that ballast is not necessary to fire up the lights. The lamp head measures 221x105x180mm for a weight of approximately 1.53kg.

Unfortunately, out of the box, the lights can only be powered using the included power cord. This can be a little limiting for filmmakers looking to use these lights in the field by relying on more portable power methods, such as V-lock or NP-F style batteries.

On the back of the unit, a 2” display and two adjustment knobs grant access to onboard controls. However, users can also change settings from their smartphones via Bluetooth, using the FEELWORLD Light app (for iOS and Android).

Price and availability

The new FEELWORLD FL125D, FL125B, FL225D, and FL225B are now available to pre-order from B&H. Each light comes with a convenient carrying case. Pricing varies as follows:
