FUJIFILM just announced the availability of the much-anticipated LUTs for the GFX ETERNA 55, and although the camera is not here yet, if you are the proud owner of a FUJIFILM camera and use F-Log2 or F-Log2C to capture memorable moments, there is a side bonus and a good reason to download those LUTs from here.
Over the last 12 months, we have extensively covered the development of the GFX ETERNA 55 camera. Now, a year to the date of the announcement, the company has just released F-Log, F-Log2, and F-Log2C LUTs to support footage recorded with it.
While the camera is expected to be released by the end of the year, I was already excited to see these LUTs, simply because they allow me to enhance my workflow with other FUJIFILM cameras.
As far as I’m aware, this is the first time that FUJIFILM is releasing LUTs that allow for converting F-Log2 and F-Log2C footage, not only to REC.709 but also to some other popular film simulations they have, like PROVIA/Standard, Velvia/Vivid, ASTIA/Soft, Classic Chrome, REALA ACE, PRO Neg. Std, Classic Neg., ETERNA/Cinema, ETERNA BLEACH BYPASS, and ACROS. I can confirm that I have had no issues using these new LUTs on footage taken with GFX and the X line of cameras. Of course, it’s possible that these LUTs may be optimized for the GFX ETERNA 55, but please give them a try. I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised!
Until we finally get the camera to put through its paces, we at least have the LUTs developed for it, which we can already try on other FUJIFILM cameras.
Please head to the FUJIFILM web page here to get the free download of the GFX ETERNA 55 LUTs.
Do you use FUJIFILM cameras for your professional filmmaking work? If so, are you excited about the possibility of using their LUTs on your flat picture file footage? Please share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
