FUJINON GF 32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR Lens Announced – Purpose-Built for GFX ETERNA 55

FUJINON GF 32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR is a new medium format cinema zoom lens that pairs with the upcoming FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55 cinema camera. The lens offers a 111mm circular front filter, built-in power zoom functionality, three geared rings, and a minimum focusing distance of 80cm (31.5 in). Shipping should start in October 2025, and the pricing has been set to $5,999.95.

Today, FUJIFILM released the full specifications and features of the ETERNA 55, along with its shipping date and price. In addition, the company announced a new large format cinema zoom lens designed to pair with the camera, the FUJINON GF 32–90mm. Let’s take a quick look at the features and specs of this new lens.

FUJINON GF 32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR lens

The new FUJINON lens, designed to pair well with the GFX ETERNA 55 camera, offers a zoom focal range of 32-90mm, equivalent to a full-frame range of 25-71mm. The angle of view is 81.0°-33.8°. This applies to the full-sensor open gate recording mode or full-width modes of the ETERNA 55 sensor. For other crop modes, the zoom equivalent and angle of view will be, of course, different.

As the lens name already implies, this is a power zoom (PZ) lens. Interestingly, the power zoom mechanism seems to be integrated in the lens barrel itself. There is a zoom rocker directly on the lens.

Another hint from the lens name tells us that it has optical stabilization (OIS). This is not so common for cinema lenses, but it might come in handy, as the GFX ETERNA 55 (just like most cinema cameras) does not have a stabilized sensor.

When it comes to optical configuration, the lens features 25 elements in 19 groups (3 aspherical & 3 ED elements). The minimum focusing distance is 80 cm (31.5 in / 2 ft 8 in) from the sensor plane.

The aperture is constant throughout the zoom range, and it is available between T3.5 and T32. It consists of 13 blades with a rounded diaphragm opening.

Physically, the lens features a Φ114mm front diameter, and it is 222.5mm (8.76 in) long. The weight is 2.15kg (4.74 lbs.) There is a rather large 111mm circular front filter thread.

Being a cinema lens, the GF 32-90mm features a metal lens barrel with each of the three rings (zoom, focus, and aperture) having integrated 0.8 MOD gears to accommodate motorized lens control systems.

Price and availability

In sync with the GFX ETERNA 55 camera, the new FUJINON GF 32-90mm T3.5 lens should start shipping in October 2025. The price has been set to $5,999.95.
