Today, Hollyland begins shipping the Hollyland LARK MAX 2 wireless microphone system worldwide. The new flagship kit brings 32-bit float safety recording, a built-in time-code generator, and support for up to four transmitters feeding a single receiver, features that were only teased during our NAB hands-on but are now locked in for production.
In case you missed it, we previously covered this system in a preview from NAB – here is the video interview. Let’s dive into what’s new since then.
Design tweaks: The transmitters keep the hover-clip mount and gain a sweat-resistant excimer nano-coating. A single-button auto-gain routine sets levels on the fly.
Combo 4-Person – four transmitters, one camera-mount receiver, and one USB-C receiver for $319Ultimate Combo – two transmitters, camera-mount receiver, USB-C receiver, and the OWS wireless ear-monitor for $279Combo – two transmitters plus both the camera-mount and USB-C receivers for $249Solo – single transmitter with the camera-mount receiver for $169Individual transmitter – spare / add-on TX available separately for $61.90All bundles are open for pre-order now. Hollyland expects the first production units to ship in early to mid-June, with full retail availability by the end of the month.
Launching alongside the MAX 2 is the LARK A1 – a sub-$70 entry kit for mobile creators. We are reporting about this in a separate news article, check it out here!
With 32-bit float, built-in TC, and a four-TX option, the Hollyland LARK MAX 2 competes directly with RØDE Wireless PRO and DJI Mic 2, while undercutting them by roughly $150 at the two-TX level. If the promised latency and range hold up in the real world, it could become the most complete sub-$300 wireless kit of 2025.
We have the Hollyland LARK MAX 2 in our review queue. Expect a full review, RF stress-test, and location audio samples soon.
