SIRUI Blaze C150B and C300B Compact Bi-Color LED Lights Introduced

SIRUI recently introduced two new bi-color lights into its Blaze-series LED lighting lineup: the C150B and C300B. As their names suggest, these fixtures are 150W and 300W, respectively, and you can adjust their color temperature from 2.800K to 7.000K, they are compatible with Bowens mount lighting modifiers and have high CRI and TLCI ratings of 96/98. So let’s take a closer look at these compact LED lights!

Chinese manufacturer SIRUI started making camera support systems in 2006 with a wide range of tripods, tripod heads, and monopods. However, in 2019, the company started producing lenses, including affordable anamorphic and cinema lenses, and this is now what they are mainly known for. We recently reviewed their aggressively-priced Nightwalker series of lenses.

Furthermore, since 2022, SIRUI has joined the LED lighting market with its B25R bendable RGB LED light and, more recently, the A100B inflatable bi-color soft light. But SIRUI also makes more “traditional” COB LED lights, and they recently launched two bi-color LED fixtures: the Blaze C150B and C300B.

SIRUI Blaze C150B and C300B features

The SIRUI Blaze C150B and C300B are compact box-style COB bi-color LED lights entirely made of aluminum. The light head of the C150B is only 15.5 x 12 x 12 cm/6.10 x 4.72 x 4.72in and weighs 1.46kg/3.21 lbs. The C300B is slightly bigger and heavier at 19 x 12 x 12 cm/7.48 x 4.72 x 4.72in for a weight of 1.8kg/3.29 lbs.

However, the light heads only have one power connector, as all the lighting controls and the power supply are on the external ballast.

The ballast of the C150B measures 12.7 x 9.5 x 25.7 cm/5 x 3.74 x 10.12in and weighs 1.55kg/3.41 lbs. Similar to the light head, the ballast of the C300B is bigger with dimensions of 12.7 x 11.5 x 25.7 cm/5 x 4.53 x 10.12in for a weight of 1.98kg/4.36 lbs.

The light heads feature a standard Bowens mount to attach lighting modifiers. The yoke has two locking knobs and once tightened, you can be sure the light head won’t go anywhere, no matter the weight of your lighting modifier. Last but not least, two fans are located on top of the light head, which according to SIRUI, “make negligible noise at full power.”

Ballast / light controller features

You’ll find a power switch on the light controller, a built-in V-Lock battery plate (two on the C300B), a PowerCon power input for mains power, 5-pin DMX input/output ports, a small status screen, and a control dial.

The ballast allows you to adjust the color temperature of the light head from 2.700K to 7.000K and adjust the brightness from 0 to 100%. According to SIRUI, the Blaze C150B can output 6.100lux at 1m/3ft, while the C300B outputs 11.500lux at the same distance. Regarding photometrics, SIRUI claims a CRI of 96 and a TLCI of 98 for both fixtures.

Also, like every modern LED fixture, it has multiple lighting effects built-in, including SOS, lightning, flash, broken bulb, candle, fire, firework, CCT loop, impulse, welding, TV, and blast.
