SWIT has just added a new series of batteries to their product line – the CIMO CINE V-mount – featuring high-load output and a new design. Four models – CIMO-98S, CIMO-160S, CIMO-200S, and CIMO-290S – offer various capacities to meet different power needs, and each is tailored for specific use cases. Let’s take a closer look at each one.
SWIT, the Chinese company that specializes in products for the broadcast and film industry, is no slacker in the battery market, having just recently announced the OMNI-50S and OMNI-99S Pocket V-mount batteries at NAB 2024. They are also well-known for their monitors, including the FM-215HDR 21.5” display, which we took a look at during Cine Gear 2024.
The key feature of these new CIMO CINE batteries, according to the company, is their ability to deliver a true high load that lets users power high-power Cine cameras and on-camera devices simultaneously. While all four batteries operate at a rated voltage of 14.4V (11V-16.8V), each of the four models offers different options.
CIMO 98S – 98Wh/ 6.8Ah (fly-friendly capacity)
CIMO-160S 160Wh / 11.1Ah (fly-friendly capacity)
CIMO-200S 196Wh / 13.6Ah
CIMO-290S 290Wh / 20.1Ah
SWIT has redesigned the CIMO series to include a USB Type C interface and the OLED screen has been moved to the side of the battery for more drop-protection safety (the company states that the battery’s double-shell structure provides a 1.2-meter drop-off at any angle). The Power Display provides real-time information on Standby, Discharging, and Charging, and pushing the button beneath the display will show the battery cycle times, the health level of the battery (1-3), and the actual maximum capacity.
The batteries have multiple connections: a USB-C 65W Power Out/Charging In, a USB-A 18W Power Out, and 2x D-tap Out/Charging In, plus a small LED flashlight on the back.
The batteries use ternary lithium cells, which support fast charging without affecting the lifespan of the battery, according to the company. The charging current is 6A (Max 8A), except for the CIMO-98S, which has 3A (Max 4A).
To prevent battery drain, if the batteries are not in use for a longer period of time, they will automatically enter an ultra-low power consumption mode. Normal mode is restored by pressing the battery’s button.
The SWIT CIMO CINE V-mount batteries are priced at $249 for the CIMO-98S, $449 for the 160S, $559 for the 200S, and $749 for the 290S. All batteries are now available for purchase. For more information, please see the SWIT website.

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. Before moving to Vienna, I worked as a photographer on film sets, telling stories as they unfolded behind the scenes. Since then, I’ve focused on immersive theater, both as a photographer and an actor. I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval ensemble, documenting the energy and atmosphere of their performances. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
