SWIT PL-E90L Bi-Color LED Strip Light Released

SWIT has recently released a new 90W bi-color LED strip light: the SWIT PL-E90L. This slim fixture is 0.5 x 3ft long, it can be powered via a single V-Mount/Gold Mount battery, and has a claimed CRI/TLCI of 99. Let’s take a closer look at this powerful and versatile LED light!

SWIT is a long-established manufacturer known for creating high-quality batteries like their recent B-Mount product lineup, wireless video transmitters, on-camera monitors, and LED lights.

Last year, SWIT launched the PL-S150D and CL-M100D LED panels. In addition, the company continues to expand their lineup of LED lights with the new PL-90L strip light.

SWIT PL-E90L features

The SWIT PL-E90L is a 0.5 × 3 feet/16 x 84cm long bi-color LED strip panel with a thickness of only 21mm!

This robust light is mainly made of metal, including the two removable metal barndoors, so it is on the heavy side at 4.9kg/8.8lbs. However, the metal construction helps with heat dissipation, while the fixture is fanless. And, the light comes with a rotatable light stand connector to securely mount it to a light stand.

The PL-E90L is a 90W LED light that can go from 2700K to 6500K. On the inside, 480 edge-mounted SMD-LEDs give you an output of 2000 Lux at 1 meter, according to the manufacturer. SWIT claims that the PL-E90L has a CRI Ra of 99 and a TLCI of 99, which is impressive and a bold claim!

You’ll find a color LCD at the back of the unit that shows you basic information like output, DMX settings, and battery info. In addition, there are two dedicated knobs to adjust the brightness and color temperature settings.

Below the screen, you’ll find a 4-pin XLR DC 11-36V power input and 5-pin XLR input/output ports. Lastly, a USB power output can be used to connect a wireless DMX receiver.

The SWIT PL-E90L can be powered via a single V-Mount or Gold Mount battery, thanks to the built-in battery plate.

3-light kit

Also available: a 3-light kit, coming in a nice little rolling soft case with three folding light stands, three light stand connectors, and AC adapters.

Price and availability

The SWIT PL-E90L is available now for €869, and it comes with an AC adapter, a light stand adapter and a carrying bag. In addition, the 3-light kit is also available now for €2,849.
