SWIT Electronics has just announced the release of two new Bi-Color LED lights, the PLS300D (soft) and PLS300H (hard). These lights are aiming to cater to the needs of professional studios. Let’s take a closer look.
It is a busy day today for SWIT Electronics. Earlier, the company announced the CIMO Cine V-mount series of new batteries, and now they are announcing the release of two new LED light panels.
According to the company, the new soft light features 1,200 SMD LEDs (SMDs are powered by five LED chips with 20-degree beam angles per chip clustered together, in contrast to normal LEDs, which use three to four high-powered LED chips with 25 to 40-degree beam angles).
The light is enhanced with an “organic light diffuser” made by S Polytech. SWIT states 10,000 Lux at 1 meter with this light and a 120° beam angle.
The panel in this light is designed for focused illumination with high intensity. SWIT mentions that each LED features its own dedicated “Fly-Eye and 45° reflector”. The 45° half-peak beam angle offers a balance between high illuminance and uniformity of the light spot. The light delivers 47,000 Lux at 1 meter.
As the name indicates, these are 300W output lights. To maintain silent operation in studios, the fixtures are fanless and achieve this by having a passive cooling design. The color temperature range is adjustable from 2700K to 6500K. DMX allows easy control of dimming and color temperature. According to the company, energy efficiency was also in mind when designing these lights to reduce cost and carbon emissions.
The SWIT PL-S300D light will be sold for 1,599 Euro, while the PL-S300H can be yours for 1.999 Euro. Both lights should be available by the time that you read this article.
