Following the launch of the X-tract 0° Direct View and 90° probe zoom lenses, DZOFILM introduces the third form of X-tract, 360° Periscope. It allows for multi-axis rotation, ultra-close focusing, and industrial-grade durability, enabling filmmakers to capture microscopic worlds from various angles, suitable for applications like advertising, sci-fi, and nature documentaries.
DZOFILM is continuing to enlarge their family of Probe Zoom lenses. We’ve already reported on some of the lenses here and here, and also conducted a friendly interview with the company during NAB. Now DZOFILM is announcing a newcomer to the X-Tract family, the 18-28mm 360° Periscope.
360° Rotation with Three Modes
Constant T8 Aperture & 71.7% Relative Illumination – Redesigned square front element and silver-coated prism maximise light transmission, outperforming traditional probe lenses (54.9% RI).
2.1:1 Magnification & 6mm Ultra-Close Focus – Reveals intricate details of sand, water droplets, and insect wings with clarity.
0.5% Focus Breathing & Near-Zero Distortion at 24mm – Ensures seamless focus pulls and minimal post-production fixes
1.14kg – 16cm crossarm + 30cm lens arm for operation.
IP57 Rating & 28cm Water Immersion – Hydrophobic/anti-fog coatings enable underwater shoots in conditions (-30°C to 70°C).
Parfocal Zoom & 300° Focus Throw – Maintains focus during zooming.
Short Rear Protrusion (1.37cm) – Compatible with PL, LPL, E, RF mounts, and speed boosters.
The 360° variant combines multi-axis rotation with optical performance to transform confined environments into creative canvases, revealing microscopic worlds.
