Accsoon PowerCage II and PowerCage Pro II Launched - iPad HDMI Monitoring Capabilities

During CES 2023, Accsoon launched two new updated Apple iPad cages: the Accsoon PowerCage II and PowerCage Pro II. These cages have multiple purposes: first, they protect your Apple device and give you multiple 1/4″-20 and cold shoe mounting points. Next, the cages can power your iPad/iPad Pro via a Sony NP-F battery. Finally, they turn your tablet into a giant HDMI monitor with video recording capabilities. So let’s take a closer look at all the features of these new Accsoon iPad cages.

Accsoon is a Chinese company specializing in wired and wireless video monitoring solutions. Over the years, the company built a solid reputation for producing high-quality, professional-grade products at affordable prices.

We recently reviewed the Accsoon SeeMo HDMI adapter that turns your iPhone into a video monitor, and we were pleasantly surprised by this $179 adapter. In 2021, we also reviewed the first version of the Accsoon PowerCage for iPad, which could only charge your tablet and offer you various mounting points.

The company is now back with an updated version of its iPad cages: the Accsoon PowerCage II and PowerCage Pro II, which are now compatible with the SeeMo HDMI adapter for iOS.

Accsoon PowerCage II and PowerCage Pro II features

The Accsoon PowerCage II and PowerCage Pro II are aluminum cages for iPads with similar features; their main difference is their size and tablet compatibility. The PowerCage II is compatible with the iPad Gen 5 – 10, the iPad Air Gen 3 – 5, and the iPad Pro 9.7 inch, 10.5 inches, and 11 inches generation 1 to 4. The Accsoon PowerCage Pro II is compatible with the iPad Pro 12.9 inch generation 3 to 6.

The PowerCage II features eight 1/4″-20 and two cold shoe mounting points, while the Pro version has ten 1/4″-20 threaded holes all around the cage.

You’ll find a foldable table stand at the back of the unit. This stand is also used to mount the included ACC04 NP-F battery adapter that comes with both cages.

The ACC04 is a Sony NP-F-style battery adapter that features multiple power input/output ports:

  • One USB Type-A output port.
  • A USB Type-C output port.
  • One USB Type-C PD in/out port that supports 5V/3A, 9V/2.22A, and 12V/1.67V voltages.
  • Finally, a DC 6.6-8.4V barrel output port.

Also, there is a power indicator on top of the ACC04 that you can activate by pressing the little button on the right side of the unit.

But the most significant change of the PowerCage II and PowerCage Pro II over its predecessor is that it is now compatible with the Accsoon SeeMo HDMI adapter that can turn your iPad into an HDMI monitor/recorder.

HDMI monitoring

Indeed, if you replace the ACC04 power adapter with the Accsoon SeeMo HDMI adapter (not included), you’ll still be able to power your iPad with a Sony NP-F battery. Still, you’ll also benefit from the HDMI input port. In short, the PowerCage II and Power Pro II turn your iPad into a giant on-camera, or more realistically, client monitor.

On your iPad/iPad Pro, you’ll need to install the Accsoon SEE App, which recently got updated with new features such as waveform, vectorscope, false color, peaking, audio monitoring tools, live streaming capabilities, and HD H.264 recording on your iPad.
