This year at NAB 2024, ASUS is unveiling a number of new products, one of which is the ProArt Display PA32KCX. This 32″ 8K HDR Mini LED monitor features 8K resolution (7680×4320 pixels), a claimed average Delta-E value below 1, plus it covers 97% of the cinema-grade DCI-P3 color gamut for excellent color accuracy. The tide is turning in terms of high-resolution editing, especially when we look at leading-edge XR and virtual productions. 8K monitors will allow editors and filmmakers who embrace 8K to edit with incredible precision and flexibility in post-production, even when delivering their final projects in 4K. ASUS ProArt Display PA32KCX, the world’s first 8K HDR Mini LED monitor, appears to be at the front of the pack!

ASUS ProArt Display PA32KCX – features

The ASUS ProArt Display PA32KCX 32-inch 8K monitor features the world’s first 8K Mini LED technology, according to ASUS. It delivers true 8K resolution (7680 x 4320 pixels) and has a claimed average color accuracy Delta-E value of below 1, which should lead to exceptional color accuracy suitable for professional editing. Additionally, it covers 97% of the cinema-grade DCI-P3 color gamut allowing for richer and more lifelike color reproduction. There is a built-in motorized flip colorimeter, which should simplify the process of maintaining long-term color accuracy, and, in addition, it supports auto/self-calibration.

The monitor’s 4096-zone Mini LED backlight has a peak brightness of 1200 nits and a sustained brightness of 1000 nits across the entire screen. A true 10-bit color depth enables the monitor to display HDR content with deep blacks and accurate highlights. It also supports multiple HDR metadata formats, including HLG and HDR10. Finally, the monitor uses LuxPixel™ Technology, which features the latest advancements in Anti-Glare, Low-Reflection (AGLR) tech, and Eye Care+ for user comfort.

The monitor provides a range of connectivity options, including HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, a USB hub, and dual Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with up to 96W power delivery. The monitor supports side-by-side as well as picture-by-picture modes for monitoring multiple sources simultaneously.

The ASUS ProArt Display PA32KCX is priced around $8,000. The monitor comes with a monitor hood for better viewing in well-lit environments.
