DJI Power 1000 and Power 500 Power Stations Released

DJI Power 1000 and Power 500 Power Stations Released

DJI has introduced two new power options with their Power 1000 and Power 500 Portable Power Stations aimed at creators of all kinds. They are compact, rugged, and can charge just about anything from a drone to a cell phone, and all of that simultaneously. Let’s look at the details.

DJI has released a number of products lately including the DJI Avata 2, which won CineD’s best of show in the Camera Support, Control, and Accessories category, and the Osmo Pocket 3 last October, for example. Now, with 8 power output ports, they’ve introduced portable batteries that look like they can charge not only these DJI products but almost anything you can connect to them.

Fast charge drones, and enhanced safety

When plugged into a power socket, both power stations can be charged in only 70 minutes (80% in 50 minutes). They can fast-charge drones with the DJI Power SDC charge function, and both power stations support solar charging. Both devices support the fast charge protocol (Power 1000: PD 3.1, Power 500: PD 3.0).

Concerning safety, both the Power 1000 and the Power 500 have passed 26 product test certifications from the Swiss SGS, and have a 4000- or a 3000-cycle life of approximately 10 years, respectively. The power stations feature an advanced safety system (BMS), which protects them from over-charging and over-discharging. Once power is restored, the batteries begin recharging automatically. Eleven integrated heat dissipation sensors ensure the power stations operate safely at up to 40°C (104°F), and ten fuses provide protection for each module.
