G-Technology becomes SanDisk Professional, New Products Added

In a surprise announcement, Western Digital announced that its G-Technology line of premium professional storage products will be rebranded as SanDisk Professional. The iconic “G” logo and product design will remain. They also announced new PRO CINEMA products for the SanDisk Professional line.

G-Technology has long been a stable in the film industry for its quality and reliability of their products. From mobile SSDs to multi-bay hard drive RAIDs, G-Technology offer a wide variety of storage solutions for professional filmmakers, photographers and other creatives.

We are combining the pro-grade heritage of G-Technology’s G-DRIVE and G-RAID product brands with the powerful awareness and trust of SanDisk so we can offer our product portfolio worldwide, to more customers and into a variety of new industries.

New PRO-Products

The first products under the new SanDisk Professional name are the PRO-CINEMA CFexpress VPG400 card, PRO-READERs and PRO-DOCK 4 Thunderbolt 3 reader docking station.

This series of products will be replacing our EV Series, helping to ensure you can keep the full capacity of your SHUTTLE drives while getting the high-performance offloads and ingest that the new PRO-READERs and PRO-DOCK 4 have to offer.

The PRO-READERs will be available for CFast, CFexpress, SD, microSD and RED MINI-MAG memory cards.

What’s changing and what’s staying?

The “G”-logo will remain on the G-Technology products until new models branded with the new SanDisk Professional name will arrive. G-DRIVE and G-RAID units appear to be the first to be replaced with SanDisk Professional branded products. G-Technology representatives ensure that the new products will remain the “same great products you know and trust today, just under the new SanDisk Professional brand.”

Our goal is to take what G-Technology created, paired with the awareness of our global SanDisk brand, and scale our offering of professional tools to pros all over the world.
