Working here in Hollywood, California. I am lucky enough to be in tune with the motion picture industry. It seems like every day I hear about another production using Canon HDSLR’s. Recently I dropped off some gear with Showtime’s Californication. I also know that CBS’s “The Ghost Whisperer”, “How I Met Your Mother” and “CSI: Miami” have all been using HDSLR’s in some capacity for a while now. So many shows will be using this camera, that at some point this will no longer be considered “News”. The delay of the RED Scarlet ( Who cares anyway 2/3″ Sensor) has left the door open for Canon to dominate the void. I expect to see many more shows turning to HDSLR’s for “B” cam and 2nd Unit work. Bottom line folks, they are here to stay.
