iFootage Anglerfish SL1 130DNA COB LED Light Introduced

iFootage has introduced a new COB LED light inside its Anglerfish series: the SL1 130DNA. As its name suggests, this LED light has a maximum output of 130W, giving you around 19.200Lux of daylight-only light with the included reflector. Also, the SL1 130DNA features impressive color accuracy with a CRI of 98, a TLCI of 99, and an SSI CIE-D55 score of 84. So let’s take a closer look at this new offering from iFootage!

iFootage is mainly known for its tripod, sliders, and camera accessories, but last year the company also started making lights with the introduction of the Anglerfish SL1 series. At launch, three models were available: the SL1 60DN, 220DN, and 320DN. If you missed it, my colleague Johnnie reviewed all three lights here.

After the recent launch of its first LED panels, iFootage is back with a new addition to its Anglerfish series: the SL1 130DNA.

iFootage Anglerfish SL1 130DNA – features

The Anglerfish SL1 130DNA is a COB LED light with a fixed color temperature of 5.600K +/-200. With a weight of only 750g/26.4oz, a compact form factor of 15.4 x 15.2 x 9.6cm / 6 x 6 x 3.7in, and a built-in power supply, this fixture won’t take up a lot of space in your lighting kit.

You’ll find a small OLED display at the back of the SL1 130DNA, dimming and control knobs, and two PD/DC power input ports.

At the top of the fixture, there is a built-in fan. You can select the fan mode in the menu and choose from intelligent, silent, and ultra-silent. According to iFootage, you can expect a 28dB fan noise in ultra-silent mode.

Powering options and control

As I mentioned, the back of the iFootage Anglerfish SL1 130DNA has two power input ports: a USB Type-C PD and a DC 15-28V barrel connector. You have four ways to power this fixture: the included power brick, V-Mount/Gold Mount batteries, USB-C power, and 970 battery packs.

iFootage has an optional pistol grip to adapt V-Mount batteries and power the SL1 130DNA easily.

Like every modern LED light, the iFootage Anglerfish SL1 130DNA can be controlled wirelessly via the company’s Lumin App, which is compatible with iOS and Android devices. Lastly, it has multiple built-in lighting effects, including paparazzi, fireworks, lightning, strobe lights, welding lights, faulty bulbs, pulsing, and explosions.

Photometrics

In this day and age, new daylight-only COB LED lights are becoming rare, as most fixtures are now at least bi-color if not RGBWW. However, with the Anglerfish series, iFootage focuses on the quality of light instead of high power or color features.

According to iFootage, you can expect a sunlight-like color spectrum from the SL1 130DNA, with a CRI of 98, a TLCI of 99, an SSI CIE-D55 of 84, and impressive IESTM-30 readings of Rf 97 and Rg 100. All of these numbers mean that the light quality should be very accurate.
