My RØDE Reel 2020 Short Film Competition from RØDE Microphones is now open for entries! From July 29th to October 7th, you can submit your entry to the competition. With $1 Million in cash – plus lots of gear and filmmaking prizes for winners to be shared, it’s bigger than ever.
Entry for My RØDE Reel 2020
To enter the My RØDE Reel 2020 Short Film Competition, you need to submit an originally produced short film between 60 seconds and 3 minutes length. You also need to submit a behind-the-scenes film, which should have the same length, featuring at least one RØDE product in use. After registering yourself on the My RØDE Reel 2020 website, you will receive a starter pack with more information.
Both of your films need to start with the official My RØDE Reel title card to be shown at least three seconds. The title card is included in the starter pack.

Categories and Prizes
My RØDE Reel 2020 Short Film Competition has five genre categories and five special categories. The Prizes are over $1 Million in cash in total plus tones of gears from sponsors.
The JUDGES’ PRIZE winner will be taking home US$200,000 in cash plus gear from all the sponsors: RØDE, MZed, Musicbed, ARRI, Panasonic, Adobe, Brevite, Pelican, Zhiyun, Nanlite, and RHINO.
The five genre categories are:
Drama, Comedy, Documentary, Animation, and Behind-The-Scenes.
The 1st prize of every genre category is getting $75,000 in cash plus gear and memberships from the sponsors. The 2nd and 3rd prize winners will get $30,000 and §15,000 respectively, plus a lot of RØDE gear.
The four special categories are:
People’s Choice, Sound Design, Young Filmmaker, and Best Chinese Film.
The 1st prize of every special category, except the judges’ choice, is getting $25,000 in cash plus gears and memberships from the sponsors. The 2nd and 3rd prize winners in the special categories will receive $15,000 and $10,000, respectively, plus also a lot of RØDE gear.
Under the category “Young Filmmaker”, filmmakers between 13 years old and 20 years old if they are from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, or South Korea, or otherwise between 13 years old and 18 years old from the rest of the world can submit their entry. The entrant should be the director and owner of the film.
And there is also a “Best Chinese Film” category for short film entries from China.
