OM Digital Solutions Lens Roadmap Update – 20mm F/1.4 PRO and 40-150mm F/4 PRO

OM Digital Solutions, formerly known as Olympus, have just released their new Micro Four Thirds’ lens roadmap with the addition of two lenses: the M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F/1.4 PRO and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F/4 PRO.

Olympus sold their imaging business to Japan Industrial Partners in January 2021 and therefore changed their company name to OM Digital Solutions. However, this is not the end of their imaging business since they released the M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm F/4 PRO lens for MFT cameras in June this year.

Now OM Digital Solutions have published their updated MFT lens roadmap.

As you can see, two new lenses have been added: the M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F/1.4 PRO and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F/4.0 PRO.

M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F/1.4 PRO features

This new 20mm Prime lens – 40mm full-frame equivalent – will be part of the company’s PRO line. Since the M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm F/1.4 PRO will sit between the 17mm F/1.2 PRO and 25mm F/1.2, I guess it’ll be a more affordable, lightweight, and compact prime in the lineup.

At the moment, this is the only information we have about the upcoming lens.

M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F/4.0 PRO features

Next is the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F/4.0 PRO, which is not an unusual focal length for the company. Indeed, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F/4-5.6 R and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F/2.8 PRO are already available for quite some time now.

The new M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F/4.0 PRO will be a nice addition along with the 8-25mm F/4 PRO and the 12-45mm F/4 PRO if you want to go from 8mm to 150mm with only three lenses.

Price and availability

As of now, there is no other information available from OM Digital Solutions. However, both lenses should be launched later this year.

What do you think about these new MFT lenses? What are your favorite Micro Four Thirds lenses? Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments below!
