OWC Atlas Lineup of SD and CFexpress Type B Memory Cards Announced

OWC has just announced that they’ll start making memory cards this year, starting with two types: the Atlas S Pro SD cards and Atlas Pro/Atlas Pro Ultra CFexpress Type B memory cards. You’ll be able to offload these high-speed CFexpress Type B memory cards with the newly announced Atlas FXR Thunderbolt CFexpress card reader at speeds up to 1,500 MB/s.

OWC is well-known for making high-quality and innovative professional storage solutions like the Mercury Pro LTO or Envoy Pro SX external SSD. Also, if you spend a lot of time working on your computer at home or on the road, OWC’s USB-C and Thunderbolt docking solutions are some of the best on the market too.

To further expand their lineup of products for professional content creators, the American company has just announced a new lineup of high-speed memory cards as well as an ultra-portable CFexpress Type B memory card reader.

OWC Atlas S Pro SD cards

The OWC Atlas S Pro SD cards are UHS-II V90 media cards available in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB flavors. With maximum write speeds up to 277 MB/s and read speeds up to 290 MB/s, there is very little doubt that they’ll be compatible with most DSLR/Mirrorless/Cinema cameras on the market.

According to OWC, “Atlas S Pro cards deliver up to 10X higher endurance than common TLC-based SD cards of the same capacity. This means you can completely fill your Atlas S Pro reliably over 29,000 times.” That sounds very promising! All Atlas cards are backed up by a 5-year limited warranty for further peace of mind.

Atlas Pro and Atlas Pro Ultra CFexpress Type B memory cards

Next are the Atlas Pro and Atlas Pro Ultra CFexpress Type B memory cards. The Atlas Pro will be available in various sizes from 256GB to 2TB, while the Atlas Pro Ultra will only be available in 320GB and 640GB capacities.

Both cards support a minimum read speed of 1,400 MB/s. However, the main difference between both models is that the Pro version support write speeds between 1,500 MB/s and 1,700 MB/s, while the Pro Ulta guarantees these read/write speeds. Of course, these CFexpress Type B memory meet 1.0 and 2.0 specifications.

Both OWC Atlas Pro and Atlas Pro Ultra CFexpress Type B memory cards are X-ray/UV ray resistant, and they are also impact/bend/shock resistant.

If you are shooting with a Nikon/Canon/Panasonic/Sony camera, you should not have any issues with these CFexpress Type B cards that are also compatible with XQD devices and backed up by the same 5-year warranty as to the Atlas S Pro SD cards.
