Panasonic is bundling the DMW-SFU3A ARRI LogC3 software upgrade key, valued at $249.99, free of charge with every new LUMIX S1II purchase in the United States. The limited-time promotion runs through March 28, 2026, and applies to all S1II body and kit configurations purchased from Panasonic.com or participating authorized dealers.
For filmmakers who have been eyeing the LUMIX S1II as a B-camera alongside ARRI cinema cameras, or simply want access to ARRI’s renowned color science, this is a significant incentive. The S1II, which we named our CineD Camera of the Year 2025 (overall winner in the Mirrorless/Hybrid category), already proved itself as one of the most capable hybrid cameras on the market. The DMW-SFU3A key unlocks ARRI LogC3 recording on the S1II, a feature that was introduced via firmware 1.1 last summer and has since become one of the camera’s most compelling professional video features. Combined with an additional $400 Trade In, Trade Up discount that is also running during the same promotion window, potential buyers could save nearly $650 on their S1II setup.
The redemption process differs depending on where you purchase the camera. If you buy directly from Panasonic.com, you simply add both the LUMIX S1II and the DMW-SFU3A key to your cart in the same transaction, and the software key will be discounted to $0 at checkout. It ships automatically with your camera.
For purchases through authorized dealers such as B&H, Best Buy, or other participating retailers, the process requires a few extra steps. After buying an S1II by March 28, you need to register your proof of purchase on Panasonic’s dedicated redemption page, answer a few questions, and you will receive a coupon code for the DMW-SFU3A via email. You then visit shop.panasonic.com, add the software key to your cart, and apply the coupon at checkout. The coupon must be redeemed by April 30, 2026. Panasonic notes that it may take up to 14 business days for claim forms to be reviewed.
The DMW-SFU3A key adds ARRI’s LogC3 gamma curve as a selectable option within the S1II’s Photo Style menu. This is not a V-Log-to-LogC3 conversion or approximation; Panasonic licensed LogC3 directly from ARRI, and the implementation has been officially certified by ARRI for accuracy. The practical benefit is straightforward: LUMIX S1II footage can be color-matched with ARRI digital cinema cameras in post-production with minimal effort.
As we noted in our LUMIX S1II review, the camera already impressed us with its dynamic range performance, achieving results on par with the ARRI Alexa Mini LF in our standardized latitude test when using 5.8K ProRes RAW with DR Boost enabled. Adding native ARRI LogC3 further strengthens the S1II’s position as a professional companion camera on mixed-camera productions.
It is worth noting that ARRI LogC3 on the S1II is available when recording in ProRes 422, ProRes 422 HQ, and ALL-Intra codecs. It cannot be used with ProRes RAW, which remains V-Log only. The base ISO shifts from 500 in V-Log to 320 when shooting in LogC3, and because the S1II does not match the dynamic range ceiling of a full ARRI cinema camera, highlight clipping will occur earlier in the LogC3 curve. Careful exposure management remains important, and underexposing in LogC3 will introduce more visible noise than in V-Log.
The qualifying S1II models include the body-only (DC-S1M2BODY), the kit with the LUMIX S 24-105mm f/4 Macro O.I.S. lens (DC-S1M2MK), and the kit with the new LUMIX S 24-60mm f/2.8 lens (DC-S1M2AK). The S1II body is priced at $3,199. The promotion is available while supplies last, with a maximum of two claims per person. If you return the S1II, the DMW-SFU3A key must also be returned, or Panasonic will charge the full retail price of the software key to your card on file.
Eligibility is limited to legal residents of the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Guam are excluded. The $400 Trade In, Trade Up program stacks with the free software key offer during the same purchase period, making this one of the more aggressive promotional pushes we have seen from Panasonic for a LUMIX camera.
Have you been considering the LUMIX S1II, and does the free ARRI LogC3 key sweeten the deal? If you are already shooting with the S1II, have you had a chance to test LogC3 alongside ARRI footage on set? Don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments below!
