PolarPro CineFlow Filter Introduced – Adds Motion Effects In-Camera

PolarPro has just launched another creative effect filter, called CineFlow. It allows users to add motion patterns to their photos or videos by introducing directional streaks directly in-camera. It’s now available to purchase, starting at around $100.

From content creation to high-end commercials, the use of in-camera effects has grown considerably over the past few years as a way to add texture, motion, and depth to otherwise static subjects or scenes — as long as the effect isn’t overdone.

lens fiPolarPro has released quite a few interesting options lately, such as their Shift Diopter Set and the Center Split Filter. While the optical concepts are nothing new, the company’s filters tend to stand out thanks to their sleek, rugged design.

PolarPro CineFlow Motion Filter – overview

When placed in front of your lens, the new PolarPro CineFlow creative filter introduces directional streaks into the image, creating the illusion of motion and speed. The filter only affects a portion of the image, allowing the main subject to remain clean and sharp.

The CineFlow filter is made from coated glass with a specific optical geometry that creates the effect. The glass is housed in an aluminum alloy frame and can be rotated to adjust the angle of the directional streaks. Unfortunately, this adjustment can only be done manually, as there’s no option to attach a follow focus motor to control the direction of the filter remotely.

The CineFlow filter is available with a standard screw-on design or with PolarPro’s proprietary Helix magnetic attachment system. The following sizes are available: 49mm, 67mm, 77mm, 82mm, 86mm, 95mm, and Helix.

Price and availability

The PolarPro CineFlow Motion Filter is now available for purchase from the manufacturer’s website. Pricing varies depending on size and mounting options, starting at $99.99 for the 49mm version and going up to $179.99 for the Helix variant.
