Following the recent introduction of their two-channel Profile Wireless system, Sennheiser has now released a streamlined version tailored specifically for solo creators — the Profile 1-Person Clip-On Wireless Audio System. The launch comes alongside a much-requested firmware update that adds 32-bit float recording to both single- and dual-channel sets, giving creators significantly more flexibility and confidence in challenging audio environments.

Built on the same platform as the dual-transmitter version, the new 1-person Profile Wireless kit offers creators a more affordable entry point into professional-grade wireless audio, while retaining key features like 32-bit float internal recording, dual-channel receiver compatibility, and Sennheiser’s signature sound quality. It’s basically the same system, minus the case and the second transmitter.

32-bit float recording comes to Sennheiser Profile Wireless via free update

The system includes a compact clip-on transmitter with an integrated omnidirectional microphone and a lockable 3.5mm input for optional lavaliers. Like its sibling, it records directly to 16GB of internal storage, now with support for up to 30 hours of 32-bit float recording thanks to the newly released firmware update. Existing users can easily enable this via a free download. The 32-bit float capability ensures clipped audio can be recovered and quiet audio normalized without added noise — ideal for unpredictable filming conditions.

Seamless integration with camera and mobile devices

The Sennheiser Profile system in general (also in the new single-channel version) has great connectivity. The included USB-C and Lightning adapters ensure compatibility with Android and iOS devices, while the bundled 3.5mm TRS cable and cold shoe mount allow easy setup with DSLR and mirrorless cameras. The receiver supports analog and 24-bit/48 kHz digital output, and users can toggle between mono, stereo, or safety channel modes for maximum flexibility during shoots.

A bright OLED touchscreen on the receiver provides visual feedback and lets users control mic gain, low-cut filters, mute functions, and even remote management of internal recording, including the newly added 32-bit float recording.

What’s included and what can be expanded

The Profile 1-Person Wireless System includes everything needed to get started: a magnet clip, cold shoe adapter, USB cables, TRS coiled cable, and a neatly organized carrying pouch. Powering the setup are internal rechargeable batteries that last up to 7 hours per unit.

Importantly, the system remains expandable: creators can later add a second transmitter and charging bar to convert the kit into a two-person solution, mirroring the full Profile Wireless setup introduced earlier. Even with the single-channel kit, users retain access to advanced features like 32-bit float recording, backup recording (which activates automatically if the wireless signal drops), and safety channel mode.

With these updates, the Profile Wireless platform becomes even more competitive, positioning Sennheiser as a serious contender in the compact wireless audio space for solo creators — a segment previously dominated by brands like RØDE and DJI.
