SmallRig x LensVid Mini L-Shaped Mount Plate Kit Introduced

LensVid recently partnered with SmallRig to create an interesting mini L-shaped mount plate kit, allowing you to attach accessories to your camera rig at a 90° angle. This small plate features 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting points. Also, it has retractable ARRI-standard locating pins to avoid unwanted twists, and a silicone coating on the plate to create some friction if you don’t have access to locating pins. So, let’s take a closer look at it!

Rigging up wireless audio/video transmitters, small lights, microphones, and various other kinds of camera accessories directly onto your camera rig is not something new. However, I can’t count how many times I felt that my camera rig was not fully optimized and that some bits and pieces felt “off” or, more simply, diverted from their initial purpose. I’m talking about magic arms to hold camera monitors, ball heads to attach a wireless video transmitter, etc.

Mounting things on your camera perpendicularly has never been the easiest thing to do. To solve that issue, LensVid worked closely with Chinese camera accessories specialist SmallRig for over a year and a half to create a smart and low-profile mini L-shaped mount plate kit.

SmallRig x LensVid Mini L-Shaped Mount Plate Kit – features

The SmallRig x LensVid mini L-shaped mount plate kit is a compact accessory that measures 33.6 x 33.6 x 28mm/1.3 x 1.3 x 1.1in for a 32g/1.1oz weight. The plate is made of aluminum and has a maximum payload capacity of 1.2kg/2.6 lbs, which is more than enough to support a wireless video transmitter, a small monitor, etc.

This 90° plate allows you to offset your camera accessory to only 20mm/0.8in from the mounting point, which enables you to keep your camera rig as slim and low-profile as possible. The plate features two 3/8″-16 mounting points with retractable ARRI locating pins. Also, if your camera cage has no locating pins, a silicone texture cover on both sides of the plate can help prevent the plate from coming loose.
