Tilta recently released an interesting behind-the-scenes video demonstrating their accessories’ use cases for DJI Ronin RS 2 / 3 / 3 Pro gimbals. If you want to learn more about how to spice up and improve your gimbal game, let’s look at this ecosystem of gimbal accessories!
The latest DJI Ronin RS 3 and RS 3 Pro gimbals were introduced in June 2022. These models are packed with many new and useful features but share many design similarities with the RS 2. In fact, most accessories from the original Tilta Ecosystem for the DJI Ronin RS 2 are compatible with the RS 3 and RS 3 Pro.
With so many accessories to choose from such as the recent Tilta Ring Grip Plus, the Lightweight Dual Handle support system, the Float stabilizing system, the dual handles, etc., it can be difficult for filmmakers to choose what tool to purchase depending on the kind of jobs they do. This is where Tilta’s latest video about their accessories for DJI RS gimbals comes in handy.
The video above shows all the Tilta accessories for DJI Ronin gimbals – demonstrated with a RS 3 Pro gimbal, but also compatible with the RS 2 and RS 3 – covered:
Out of the four, the Advanced Ring Grip is one of the most versatile gimbal accessories you can get. Indeed, it transforms your one-hand stabilizer into a “full-size” gimbal, which helps distribute the weight of your setup more evenly. Also, it allows you to attach multiple accessories around the rig, like a wireless video transmitter, a V-Mount battery, a monitor and so on. Furthermore, the left and right side focus/control handles give you two-hand control over your DJI Ronin RS gimbal.
For filmmakers that who want to build a system similar to the “ARRI Trinity” but on a budget, the Tilta Float might be the right option. Indeed, the vest and spring-loaded arm inherited from traditional steadycam systems will help you create unique movements like the low-to-high shot, which is hard to reproduce smoothly if you are going handheld.
If you want to travel light, the Dual Handle power supply bracket is a more compact solution that can fit into your Ronin’s original carrying case. This accessory can power your gimbal, give you two points of contact, and you can attach one or two small extra accessories.
Lastly, the Lightweight Dual Handle gimbal support system adds a support belt and switches the dual handle power supply bracket for regular dual handles. The belt does not provide any additional stabilization but helps if you’re going to shoot for an extended period.
All Tilta accessories for DJI Ronin RS gimbals are available now. The Advanced Ring Grip retails for $799, the Tilta Float starts at $999; the Dual Handle power supply bracket is $269; and the Lightweight dual handle gimbal support system retails for $209.
