At IBC 2024, we spoke with Nissy Cai from Accsoon about their new budget-friendly wireless intercom system, the CoMo SE. This system operates at 2.4GHz and can run up to 30 hours on a single battery. The Accsoon CoMo SE aims to offer a cost-effective solution without sacrificing performance or battery life.
Nissy told us that the primary difference between the original CoMo (that was introduced at NAB earlier this year) and the CoMo SE is the operating frequency of 2.4GHz compared to the original CoMo’s 1.9GHz. The rest of the features remain largely the same, including external antennas for a stable wireless connection, a key priority for Accsoon after many years of working with wireless systems.
Both versions offer a range of up to 400 meters without requiring a base station (the SE has a host headset with orange buttons and slave sets with black buttons) and a microphone that flips up to mute and down to speak. The microphone features environmental noise cancellation to filter out background noise, which is particularly useful in noisy environments like live concerts.
The CoMo SE uses a rechargeable, non-proprietary battery, which comes with a charger. The system can support communication between one host and up to four remote headsets. Nissy pointed out that while there may be occasions when the 2.4GHz frequency is a bit more crowded than 1.9GHz, the 400m/1312ft range remains the same.
All Accsoon CoMo SE headsets are priced at $99 each, and there is also a kit available that includes one host headset and four slave headsets. The CoMo SE is expected to be released in late September 2024. For more information, please visit the Accsoon website.

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. Before moving to Vienna, I worked as a photographer on film sets, telling stories as they unfolded behind the scenes. Since then, I’ve focused on immersive theater, both as a photographer and an actor. I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval ensemble, documenting the energy and atmosphere of their performances. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
