Panasonic US is running a limited-time promotion that bundles a free LUMIX S 85mm f/1.8 or S 50mm f/1.8 lens with the purchase of a LUMIX S5 IIX, S5 II, or S9 camera body or kit. The offer runs through March 28, 2026, at authorized US retailers, and includes additional instant savings on select configurations.
If you have been considering jumping into Panasonic’s L-mount full-frame ecosystem, or adding a second body to your kit, this is one of the more compelling incentive packages we have seen from Panasonic in recent months. Getting a free prime lens worth up to $599 when purchasing a camera significantly sweetens the deal, particularly for filmmakers and hybrid shooters building a versatile lens set on a budget.
The offer applies to three of Panasonic’s current full-frame mirrorless cameras: the LUMIX S5 IIX, the LUMIX S5 II, and the compact LUMIX S9. All three are eligible, whether purchased as a body-only or as part of a kit. Depending on the camera or deal, buyers can choose one of the following L-mount prime lenses as their free addition: the Panasonic LUMIX S 85mm f/1.8 (S-S85), which carries a regular retail price of $599, or the Panasonic LUMIX S 50mm f/1.8 (S-S50), valued at $498.
From the bundles currently listed at authorized retailers like B&H, the S5 IIX and S5 II are frequently paired with the 85mm f/1.8, while the S9 tends to be bundled with the 50mm f/1.8.
Beyond the bundled lens, Panasonic is also applying instant savings to select camera and kit configurations during this promotion window. This effectively stacks discounts, bringing the total cost of entry into the LUMIX S full-frame system down even further. The exact savings vary depending on the model and whether you opt for a body-only or kit purchase, so checking current pricing at authorized dealers will give you the most accurate picture of total value.
The promotion is limited to legal residents of the 48 contiguous United States and Washington, DC, who are 18 years of age or older. It runs from now through March 28, 2026, or while supplies last, whichever comes first. Purchases must be made through authorized Panasonic retailers to qualify.
Both the LUMIX S 85mm f/1.8 and the S 50mm f/1.8 are solid performers in Panasonic’s native L-mount prime lineup. The 85mm is a natural fit for interviews, portrait work, and tighter narrative compositions, while the 50mm serves as a versatile everyday focal length for documentary, run-and-gun, and general production use. Pairing either lens with the S5 IIX (which offers features like All-Intra recording, waveform monitoring, and anamorphic de-squeeze) or the hybrid-focused S5 II gives shooters a capable production-ready setup right out of the box. The S9, meanwhile, appeals to content creators and B-cam users who want a compact full-frame option without sacrificing L-mount lens compatibility.
