NANLITE PavoSlim 240B/240C and 60CL LED Lights Unveiled

NANLITE PavoSlim 240B/240C and 60CL LED Lights Unveiled

NANLITE debuts three new PavoSlim LED panel lights ahead of NAB 2024. The PavoSlim 240B bi-color and 240C RGBWW are 2’x2’ foldable LED panels. By folding the panels in half, these two lights provide a large light source in a small package. The RGBWW PavoSlim 60CL is a unique, 2 x 0.5ft panel for tight spaces like vehicles.

Cinematographers, gaffers, and content creators always look for ways to lighten their gear. LED cloth lights provide a way to get soft light sources with minimal weight. However, what they lack in weight can also be reflected in their lack of output. NANLITE’s PavoSlim panel lights seek to provide an alternative with a lightweight metal design combined with high output.

The PavoSlim 240B/240C

The 240 series provides a 2×2-sized light designed to provide a large, soft, light source. This is a common size for a key light used for interviews. At 5600K, it produces an impressive 22,990 lux at 1 meter. (For comparison, the Intellytech Mini Mega-4FC Litecloth 3.0 2×2 produces 7920 Lux at 1 meter). The 240B is a bi-color option that offers higher output. The 240C provides full RGBWW features.

The 240B and 240C can be powered by AC or DC power, or V-Mount batteries. The power supplies feature two V-Mount plates so you can hot-swap batteries without dousing the lights. Each light comes with an array of accessories for mounting and modifying the lights.

The PavoSlim 60CL

When you need to tuck a light into a tight space, NANLITE offers the PavoSLim 60CL. It’s a low profile light that can run off Sony NP batteries or V-Mounts. It offers a full array of color options and plenty of output at over 7,000 lux at 1 meter (5600K).

Heat dissipating frame – the key to output

The back of the PavoSlim lights is a metal heatsink. This is why the 240B/240C only folds in half instead of in quarters like the Intellytech. This metal frame diffuses heat so efficiently that the engineers at NANLITE could give it much greater output than light cloths (as they say their marketing material). However, the CRI/TLCI averages 95/97 on the PavoSlim and 97/99 on the Intellytech. This demonstrates that users need to consider whether output, weight, or color accuracy will be their chief value.

Price and availability

The PavoSlim 60CL costs $599, the PavoSlim 240B costs $1150 and the PavoSlim 240C costs $1550. They will be available in late May.
