ProGrade Digital 512GB UHS-II V90 SDXC Card Now Available

ProGrade Digital has recently introduced a high-capacity SDXC card with V90 video speed class. This new ProGrade Digital 512GB UHS-II SDXC card offers maximum read/write speeds of 300/250 MB/s, a guaranteed minimum write speed of 90 MB/s without dropped frames, as well as resistance to shocks and X-rays. It is now available for purchase for $459.99.

A few weeks ago, we reported about the Wise Advanced 512GB SDXC UHS-II memory card with V90 video speed class certification. According to the company, it was the world’s first V90 option on the market to feature such a high capacity.

Recently, ProGrade Digital released their own 512GB UHS-II V90 SDXC card with very similar specs. It promises to be a reliable tool for photographers, filmmakers, and content creators looking for a high-performance SD card. Let’s take a closer look.

ProGrade Digital 512GB UHS-II V90 SDXC card

The new ProGrade Digital 512GB UHS-II SDXC card joins the existing 64, 128, and 256GB models in the company’s lineup of V90 SD cards. This higher-capacity version shares the same maximum read and write speeds of 300 and 250MB/s respectively. Hence, it’s a little slower than the Wise Advanced model when writing data, at least on paper.

Its V90 video speed class ensures the card can sustain a minimum write speed of 90 MB/s without dropping any frames. Although the card is UHS-II, U3, Class 10 rated, it is retro-compatible with UHS-II/V60, UHS-II/V30, and UHS-I/U3 slots, for example. In this scenario, speed performance is limited by the device.

These specs should make the card suitable for high-resolution video recording with modern DSLR and mirrorless cameras. For example, it could be a perfect match to record high-quality 4K 120p 4:2:2 10-bit videos on the Sony a7s III.

Design and data protection

The card features an industry-standard write-protect switch to prevent accidental loss of data. Moreover, the company claims this new 512GB is shock and X-ray proof as well as capable of resisting to an extreme temperature range (-25°C to +85°C/-13 to 185°F).

Furthermore, this SDXC card is compatible with the company’s Refresh Pro software that allows users to restore the card to its peak performance after months or years of intense use. However, both the Refresh Pro and ProGrade’s data recovery softwares must be purchased separately.
