P+S Technik has introduced HEXAMO, a dedicated mount system that enables Leitz HEKTOR Cine Prime lenses to be used on the ARRI ALEXA platform. The HEKTOR lenses were originally developed for modern mirrorless camera systems with short flange focal distances. As a result, a conventional adapter would place them too far from the sensor on an ALEXA body, preventing infinity focus. So let’s see how the HEXAMO works on ARRI ALEXA cameras.
We have covered the ARRI ALEXA platform extensively, including our Lab Tests of the ALEXA 35 and the ALEXA Classic/Mini LF. P+S Technik is operating in familiar territory here, following projects such as its Ottoblad rehoused Hasselblad lens series. With HEXAMO, the company offers a mechanical route for pairing mirrorless-designed HEKTOR lenses with ALEXA cameras.
The goal is to combine the image character of the Leitz HEKTOR series with the established ARRI ALEXA platform. According to P+S Technik, the HEKTOR lenses are known for smooth focus roll-off, organic rendering, and distinctive flares. For cinematographers, rental houses, and productions already working with ALEXA cameras, HEXAMO offers access to that look without moving to a mirrorless camera body.
The HEXAMO Mount System is available exclusively from P+S Technik and CBM. Pricing is not listed publicly, and details such as supported ALEXA models, conversion options, lead times, and reversibility are available on request. For more information or to place an order, interested users should contact P+S Technik or CBM directly at [email protected].
Would you be interested in using Leitz HEKTOR lenses on an ARRI ALEXA body? Do you prefer dedicated mechanical conversions like this, or would you rather keep lenses in their original mirrorless mounts? Let us know in the comments below.

A camera was put in my hands at 16, and I’ve been taking photographs ever since. Before moving to Vienna, I worked as a photographer on film sets, telling stories as they unfolded behind the scenes. Since then, I’ve focused on immersive theater, both as a photographer and an actor. I am the photographer for the award-winning Nesterval ensemble, documenting the energy and atmosphere of their performances. I’m a teller of stories. Stories hold my interest. I’ll take on any project with a story to tell.
